Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I guess I'm in the minority, but what exactly is offensive about the word Spam or spamming.?..?.
If I was ever passionate enough to push an agenda to someone I considered my friend and after awhile, they said, dude can you stop spamming me with your opinion, I can see being hurt for a bit. Like, dude I'm trying to help you with your alcoholism! Why can't you see that?!

Spam is worthy of deletion without reading. Spam is junk. I don't think I'm alone in saying that I have a Spam folder in my email that I don't even open - I just delete everything in the folder every few days. That's Spam.

Now imagine someone sitting down to choose an album that they love. And that they want to share. And they map out several clues. And they work hard on their write up for that album. They put themselves out there because the choice is personal. It is a nerve wracking process.

And then it's called Spam.

That's a deflating gut punch.

if it's anything else I'm gonna be so upset, like you don't even know

Why the are you even still communicating with this... person? I can't see their posts, but I can see yours continuing after posting so many "don't take the bait" posts. You already know better. Just click ignore.

After this... person posts an endless number of "I want down votes. Bring them on" posts openly trying to antagonize people on reddit, while admitting they are just there to poke at people and start shit, they came here. The posts would get downvoted so quick over there, that they just wanted to make people have to see them. So, while I'd normally be more welcoming and be against silencing someone's voice and opinions on here, I feel different in this situation. That's partly because we're dealing with someone who is constantly trying to swarm and attack people for their opinions. I completely believe the only intention is attention and they can beat it. I wouldn't let someone's past on another site carry over, if the actions were different here, but I've already seen this movie and it sucks. It's just a continuation. The sewage is seeping over across platforms.

But, but, but all those poor lonely Russian women need your money or an eggplant.

it implies that the thing being advertised lacks worth or value. Given the passion and love in those threads that’s offensive.

To me it implies that the messages doing the advertising are unsolicited and out of place, not that the thing being advertised is worthless. I'm sure Shen Yun is a lovely production, but I don't need posters about it everywhere I go.

And again, I really don't think anyone is referring to the AOTM thread as spam. It was literally just a one-day period when everyone was taking over the front page to advertise it, and people kept trying to reroute conversations about VMP titles in VMP threads to talk about how much better the N&G AOTM is. Which I'm sure is true, but it was exhausting.

Yeah, that classification was the part I most regretted about my blow up post.

I just want everyone to know that DjX is STILL not a DJ but he is STILL my friend. He and I have chatted about this. He was right about how much we were posting and so I stopped. I will say that we got a bit excited in our posting and went into overdrive, it was pointed out, I adjusted. DjX + Te^5 = FF (or something like that)

This is what I assumed as well. It's the message that is unwanted, not what the message contains.

Really? That’s the analogy you’re going to use? Nice....
Was that insulting? I was trying to convey something extreme enough that I would have an agenda to push on my friend w/ the chance of being rebuked after awhile. I'm sorry if that example was insensitive.

Heath - you've kinda just admitted that you don't know what the N&G AOTMs have been. Which means you haven't been in those threads. Which kinda means our posting was not entirely misplaced.

Why haven't you visited our threads? Just curious.

Love you Teeeee!

Dunno it just seemed a bit a weird choice and it is a kinda much more important thing, that said probably not overly insulting, or is it? I dunno, it just confused me as a choice

I'm on the same terms as @Heath, that's why I asked.
I love the N&G AOTM Forum, never participate but enjoy seeing y'all have fun.
But spam is unsolicited information, it'd be if I were to post about VMP in the N&G AOTM thread, despite how much I worked on it, it would still be seem as spam and be asked to stop. But I also, now understand how one can be hurt by it.

ALL TO SAY: This is community, learning and evolving together. ❤
