Record cleaning - what's your method?

Got my Spin Clean today and decide to test on an old Rain Dogs copy that I thought was clean but still had lots of pops/crackles.
Wow, my jaw just dropped, I'm amazed with the results. Should've recorded what it sounded like before but, I kid you not, I guess it's like 80% quieter. Very, very impressed

First test with the Pheonix cleaning fluid.... I tested it on Strand of Oaks "Leave Ruin" which is a very quiet record and... dead silence!

The fluid is very sudsy and smells like detergent but It spread on pretty easily and vacuumed right off. I didn't hear any noise on the record and didn't notice any stylus gunk. Will test it out on a few more before I declare it a success.

Clean records are happy records :)

It’s so satisfying when I clean a used record in my cavitation bath 5-8 times and when you finally hear it without all the gunk in the grooves and stylus and it’s finally listenable.

I shouldn’t speak negatively about vacuum type cleaning machines as I haven’t used one but this is why I advocate for ultrasonic setups relative to cost my setup cost around $400 USD and it takes multiple cleanings to get some decontaminated. Does anyone use a cavitation bath but do some sort of manual mechanical cleaning before hand?

Just purchased a Spin Clean on sale for $60 bucks over the weekend as it seems to get some pretty nice reviews.
It’s the way to go without spending hundreds of dollars and even if you move onto something else to clean primarily down the line it will always be useful for pre cleaning really dirty records, maintenance cleaning, or rinsing after after an ultrasonic cleaning.

How often should you wet clean

I know once you buy it definitely but I dunno how long afterwards, months, years, etc

That depends on how you want to handle dust I am very tedious I literally vacuum at least once a day and clean all surfaces in my space and dust is everywhere especially if you don’t have hard floors so I clean in a cavitation bath at least once upon acquiring any record or as many times as it takes to get it clean and I maintenance clean/dust by spin cleaning with distilled water and a very minute amount of isopropyl alcohol. I always dry with a virgin microfiber and then use the milty stat before playing or sleeving.

Everyone is different, so here's my process...

Every record, new or old gets cleaned on the VPI and given a new sleeve regardless of the one it came in.
I clean my stylus before every spin session
After that, I clean albums as needed and keep my equipment dust free at all times.

So far so good ;)

Same as above. When it comes in and if for some reason I do something dumb like get a fingerprint on it or I notice something. There's no rule-book here, but wet cleaning every spin seems like it is a bit of overkill

I need to clean my ortofon 2m blue. what's the best way to do it?

I just use one of those little stylus brushes like this one: Diskeeper Stylus Brush

I haven't been brave enough to try any liquids on mine.
Stylus brush only brushing from the back of the cart/stylus toward the front. Never front to back. Also, Ortofon recommends against liquids and onzow zerodust type products. It might void your warranty.

I use this type of brush as well, but I do use cleaning fluid. I believe some are against the fluids due to the fluid sometimes dissolving the glue/bonding agent that holds the stylus tip in place. I've had no problem with Grado, and now the AT cart.
