If I see dust on a record I usually just blow it off.
FTFYIf I see dust on a record I usually just move it around some and add some spittle to it for good measure.
Clean records are happy recordsGot my Spin Clean today and decide to test on an old Rain Dogs copy that I thought was clean but still had lots of pops/crackles.
Wow, my jaw just dropped, I'm amazed with the results. Should've recorded what it sounded like before but, I kid you not, I guess it's like 80% quieter. Very, very impressed
It’s so satisfying when I clean a used record in my cavitation bath 5-8 times and when you finally hear it without all the gunk in the grooves and stylus and it’s finally listenable.Got my Spin Clean today and decide to test on an old Rain Dogs copy that I thought was clean but still had lots of pops/crackles.

I shouldn’t speak negatively about vacuum type cleaning machines as I haven’t used one but this is why I advocate for ultrasonic setups relative to cost my setup cost around $400 USD and it takes multiple cleanings to get some decontaminated. Does anyone use a cavitation bath but do some sort of manual mechanical cleaning before hand? It’s so satisfying when I clean a used record in my cavitation bath 5-8 times and when you finally hear it without all the gunk in the grooves and stylus and it’s finally listenable.
It’s the way to go without spending hundreds of dollars and even if you move onto something else to clean primarily down the line it will always be useful for pre cleaning really dirty records, maintenance cleaning, or rinsing after after an ultrasonic cleaning.Just purchased a Spin Clean on sale for $60 bucks over the weekend as it seems to get some pretty nice reviews.

Everyone is different, so here's my process...How often should you wet clean
I know once you buy it definitely but I dunno how long afterwards, months, years, etc

Every record, new or old gets cleaned on the VPI and given a new sleeve regardless of the one it came in.
I clean my stylus before every spin session
After that, I clean albums as needed and keep my equipment dust free at all times.
So far so good
I just use one of those little stylus brushes like this one: Diskeeper Stylus BrushI need to clean my ortofon 2m blue. what's the best way to do it?
Stylus brush only brushing from the back of the cart/stylus toward the front. Never front to back. Also, Ortofon recommends against liquids and onzow zerodust type products. It might void your warranty.I just use one of those little stylus brushes like this one: Diskeeper Stylus Brush
I haven't been brave enough to try any liquids on mine.

I use this type of brush as well, but I do use cleaning fluid. I believe some are against the fluids due to the fluid sometimes dissolving the glue/bonding agent that holds the stylus tip in place. I've had no problem with Grado, and now the AT cart.Stylus brush only brushing from the back of the cart/stylus toward the front. Never front to back.
