That is true that VMP is very inconsistent with their quality control, but I still enjoy them and am happy getting my warped records professionally cleaned and fixed/unwarped, with VMP giving me credit for when a record is warped. It’s OK for me! Urban Outfitters have been the worst but I still get my Britney Spears’ exclusives from them and am happy to get them unwarped too 🙈

But, my Nicole Atkins for example was actually warped! I did get it fixed though, and it does sound great!

But back to the Silent Alarm AOTM, I’m really looking forward to checking it out, because I do really like Joe’s music taste! ♥🔥👌

I loved that VMP was sending credits for warped and/or damaged records but at the end I was like "Would I be ok to pay the price I paid to receive an unplayable records?". Of course not.

I had actually originally intended the album to be Passenger by Lisa Hannigan but I wasn’t able to demonstrate to myself that there was enough availability in America, which was a pity because she is very talented and it’s widely available in Europe.

You’ve probably heard her sing though. She was in Damien Rice’s band and did all the backing vocals on 0 and 9 before quitting because she wanted to do her own material. She also did backing vocals on the last album by The National and Aaron Desner co-produced her 2016 album At Swim.

Oh yeah! Someone played her in JQBX and I asked about it because I recognized her voice from Damien Rice's 0. Excellent.

I looked at the US one about a month ago and there were only a couple and it was over $30 a pop which seemed steep for a single LP. It is a really good album, it won loads of awards and acclaim here when it came out in 2011. She doesn’t really play the game as such so I think that outside of Ireland she is better known and regarded amongst her peers than with punters

I think me and @Joe Mac have more overlapping taste. But as long as his pick doesn't disappoint me too much I will go back and listen to the others!
I think the whole the first one being Vol. 0 confused me too much!
