I should have mentioned that my all-time is since 2005, so that's 15 years of listening

My first week this year in music

As we all know that Kelly Lee Owens album is really awesome, I've spun it several times this week. ❤️ Also I'm trying to listen to more new albums right when they get released this year, so there are a few new releases inside my collage. I've enjoyed the "Sun thru trees" and "In the Pines" albums. :)

Week 1 recap:

Breakdown
Like @Bluecloud777 mentioned, I will also be making effort to listen to substantially more 2021 releases the week of release...I became too stale in a predictable routine of my Tier 1/2 picks week to week.
That said, MF DOOM gets top spot honors for obvious reasons. Of last weeks releases, one that @Bluecloud777 didn't mention in the New Music Friday! thread was Space Heater - Music Planet, a very creative mix of nu-jazz and offbeat jazz fusion...probably my top album in this young 2021! I also dug Sun Thru Trees (downtempo electronic), Tar Hag (doom metal), and Sevish (IDM, jazzy electronic). Some other favorites on vinyl/CD are here, too.

The Aaron Frazer album really is great, wonderful laid-back soul. I've ordered it on vinyl.
The Kehlani album also is great. Viagra Boys and LICE sounds very interesting. Jazmine Sullivan and Passenger got some good tracks. Apart from that I've enjoyed spinning some classic vinyl.

Finding myself being lost in an art pop vortex as of late. Thinking about making "Sledgehammer" my JQBX entry song ;) Also trying out some more '21 releases...not sure any of last week's are catching my ear. Didn't care too much for Viagra Boys or Codist. Kev Brown and Jazmine Sullivan were both OK in my book. Have a lot more to check out today!

My week...

Took part in a few themed days on Instagram (New Wave Wednesday, Greatest Hits Thursday, 90's Saturday, Soundtrack Sunday) and celebrated the 10th anniversary of The Decemberists' The King Is Dead... Also started an alphabetical play-through of my record collection (Adele through Alice In Chains so far).
