What's Spinning

This reissue from last year sounds noticeably better than the 2016 Plain Recordings version I had. At long last, I can actually enjoy listening to this record on my turntable!

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
#121: Joe Henderson - In N Out

I have a bunch of Henderson records in my wish list, but thanks to the BN80 reissues I recently crossed this one off that list. The compositions are great, and the interplay displayed by Mccoy Tyner, Elvin Jones and Henderson is simply amazing.

Blow 3.0 - Equality

The Belgian jazz scene is almost as on fire as the London one and this is one of my favourites of the year. (There'll be no spin of #9 - Our Native Daughters - as the vinyl is waiting for me in the UK).

Secret Santa spin number one. Brilliant and something I’d never have come across had it not been for this forum and that thread

Tinsel curtesy of Mrs bsdmr2 (available directly from Linn as a festive LP12 upgrade for less than your monthly mortgage payment:rolleyes:)

Joji - In Tongues (2017, repress 2018)

When I was watching Filthy Frank's dark, surrealistic YouTube videos in 9th grade, I never thought the man behind his persona would become a down to earth, soulful, commercially successful musician. More power to him, I love his works as Joji.
