Doing the Discogs shuffle and this one popped up. I grabbed this on Record Store Day but hadn’t listened to it yet. First tune was pretty damn dark. Sounds amazing though.
Well, I don't know the extent of the good and bad on other pressings, but, this particular one I have is flat, no seam splits in or out and has just a touch of noise, very faint, between the end of track 3 going into track 4..........I'm good with it. Nice and quiet outside of that, the splatter is pretty nice, I'll admit. Really great album, nothing most of you don't already know.

I'm going to try to stick to the studio stuff first unless I find deals on the live shows. I'm definitely not going into the live shows with a completist mindset. That's a task I don't think I'll ever want to take on.
I actually thought Steal Your Face was a studio album when I bought, that's how little I know but I'm excited to learn as I go. Almost feels like a whole new hobby all in itself.
From the Ultimate Collection boxset (also released separately, with different labels). It took me a few years to be able to fully appreciate this album, but I finally made my way around to it. Such an amazing album.
This is not a good pressing....skipping and a rumble on the first track - along with being at a faster RPM, makes that track unplayable....I'll see if the vinyl flat and a cleaning can do anything for it.
EDIT - Side B starts off just as bad - C also has some issues, but plays through them - may have to look to get a replacement.
This is the problem with shitty pressing plants doing 45 RPM....they HAVE to be perfect to play at this speed. I first put this on at 33 1/3 and had no issues and it tracked just fine, but at the faster speed, defects make a huge difference in play quality.
