Looks like it's the second pressing as they label KG as the mastering engineer and it's pressed at Rainbo. This is 100% true. I bought a Vinyl Passion vinyl once back in my early days of collecting, before I knew what I was doing. The pressing was so bad, that it drove me to do research on how it could sound so bad. So I guess in a way I have to thank them.
Anyway, I highly doubt VMP would, or even legally could, use the Vinyl Passion master to press their albums.
My guess is this version:
Ray Charles – Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music, Volumes 1 & 2 (2019, Vinyl)

I think it is worth noting that in spite of the perceived value of some test pressings on the collectors market, they are essentially free to the company that gets them. So, they aren't really giving anything up.if anything i'd say it's highballing since the people that got multiple copies of mobb deep (assuming orders were actually being squared) probably bought 4 / 5 copies initially with the goal of reselling them. Getting more Mobb Deep sounds like a huge plus.
I wanna know how they'll handle the people that aint get a copy, cause those people seem way more important. Giving people free test pressings alone is an amazing way to make up for it, and the store credit thing would be a plus.

Pressed at one of the worst pressing plants in the world no less. Thanks for the link. So I take it VMP is just doing a color variant of something that is being widely released?
Seems like it. It's in stock over at Amoeba but at 36, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the link. So I take it VMP is just doing a color variant of something that is being widely released?

Well yeah I mean, what’s the alternative? VMP give a $35 credit for each extra copy of the record you send back? Because not only would that be disastrously bad from a financial standpoint, but even that would be “lowballing” it, considering secondhand prices will almost certainly be higher. Honestly, I really do think that most people in the vinyl community either have no interest in flipping, and/or no knowledge of how to. Is there a potential for more money to be made on the secondhand market? Sure, but it’s not like EVERYBODY got 25 copies, some people only got one or two more than what they ordered, so for them, a raffle entry is likely the better option. A free turntable, $500 in credit, a year’s subscription to all 3 tracks, etc. is a VERY hefty return on investment when the investment is “records you didn’t pay for or plan on having in the first place”, and while VMP could never compete with potential secondhand market value, I think this is the best way to handle such a fuck upLol im taking the heat now for suggesting this offer is super lowball for the people that got massive amounts of Mobb Deep.
I went from +3 to -6 before the VMP staffers and stans got to me.
That's cool. I'd say they definitely should give 100% to charity in that case since, again, the price of the test pressings would be built into the press order and far more than recouped based on the price of sale for the normal albums. They already made the profit desired by setting the price on the standard albums. Taking extra off the top is a bad look imo.I asked them about what they do with the test presses back when the old forum was still a thing, and they said that they were planning on doing some charity auction thing with them. Assuming they aren't 100% benevolent, they would keep a % of however much each test press went for and give rest of the money to charities, so giving away test presses now would hurt them in the long run should they actually go through with the auction plan.
The $35 in store credit is a plus regardless, though
My TLC hasn’t shipped either. I think it will just ship with the rest of my December boxAnyone get extra copies of TLC? Still waiting on shipping for that and I'm wondering if its stuck with the same issue.
I’m still waiting on my November box!How the hell are so many people not even getting their months packages
I'm guessing it's either migration issue, oversold, or info @ is needed

My Danny Brown, Black Pumas, Spoon and The Rolling Stones haven’t shipped either. I’m definitely expecting Danny Brown and The Rolling Stones to ship with my December box as I can see that some people already have received them! ☺
