Vinyl Me Please Classics

2 Bugs and a Roach by Earl hooker is a great 69 blues album
My Feeling for the Blues by Freddie King
Giant Step by Taj Mahal (though arguable to call it blues)
there's 3 Lightnin Hopkins albums from 69 as well.

Even though there’s a Craft pressing still in print I think Melting Pot is very likely.

No way. The only times VMP Classics is ever a rehash of something AAA in print is when they did a mono of Donny Hathaway as opposed to the Speakers Corner stereo. Melting Pot is totally ruled out. Keep in mind that although VMP is the exclusive retailer, Melting Pot or any Stax Records reissue would still be done by Craft Recordings.

The fact that Craft has an in print title and would have to license it to VMP does clearly rule it out I think

Potential Albums Picks:

I put my dream picks on top with links, but I think I've got all the other suggestions from others.

April (1969 Blues Album):
Mississippi Fred McDowell - I Do Not Play No Rock N' Roll

Freddie King - Freddie King is a Blues Master
Big Mama Thornton - Stronger Than Dirt
Taj Mahal - Giant Step / De Old Folks at Home
Howlin' Wolf - The Howlin' Wolf Album
Earl Hooker - 2 Bugs and a Roach
---- More Classic Rock than Blues, but.. -----
Johnny Winter - Johnny Winter (or Second Winter)
Janis Joplin - I Got Dem Kozmic Blues Again Mama!
Fleetwood Mac - Then Play On
Blind Faith - Blind Faith
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin I

May (1971 Instrumental Soul):
King Curtis - Live at the Fillmore West

Booker T & The MGs - Melting Pot (Highly unlikely due to it's recent reissue)
James Brown - Sho is Funky Down Here (Just had a RSD reissue though through Now-Again, so I doubt it)

June (1970 Soul-Jazz):
Eddie Harris - Live at Newport

Jimmy Smith - I'm Goin' Git Myself Together
Jimmy McGriff - Something to Listen To
Herbie Mann - Push Push (Possible the worst album cover of all time.)
Grant Green - Carryin' On
Melvin Sparks - Sparks

Freddie Hubbard - First Light (I have this and it's great, but not what I think of when I think of Soul-Jazz. Also a recent ORG reissue).
Charles Kynard - Afro-Disiac (I doubt this as it got a recent Jazz Dispensary reissue.)
