I'm no expert but I'd probably use a microfibre cloth, just avoid the cap in the center of the speakers, they can dent real easily. Any harm in carefully taking a soft cloth to the cones to clear the dust?

Pretty safe bet MIU circa 1985Definitely real wood. Unclear on manufacture location, though it has the California location on there

Those are voice coil leads. In older cones, bringing the leads through the center of the cone and back out through the cone surface was not uncommon. The glue covers the leads.not sure what those tear drop looking things are.
