The N&G Top 500 Albums of All Time!!!

that is true. and by this same logic, Daft Punk (who will have at least one entry on my list) are also robots and therefore not humans either. hm 🤔
oh and you cant forget dog police and they aren't human at all

and if cartoons dont then andre 3000 is in the weird middle ground

also if anyone puts in the residents they are a bunch of eyeballs does that count as a human

Andre is also an a(TL)ien as well... this only gets more and more confusing 😵
i mean everyone from logic to MC Hammer to Andre 3000 to even jay Z count as also cartoon characters now so its sus

OK NEW RULE

if you are guest starring in a cartoon you are not a cartoon

even nicki minaj who played a cartoon character in steven universe is still a human

gorillaz and the archies and hell debatably puffy ami yumi are cartoon characters

I think my top 50 list is finished. I'm going to sit on it for a few days before sending it in. Slots 46-50 were absolutely the most difficult part. It was very tempting to fill those slots with sentimental picks but I tried to be relatively ruthless and focus on what I'd rather listen to now. My "honorable mentions" list looks heartbreaking to me as a result... that's probably why I preferred the idea of doing a top 100 instead!

I've been enjoying reading other people's stats, so here are mine:

Representation (Gender): 18 albums by artists featuring women (including 6 as solo artists)

Representation (Race): 3 albums by African-American artists

By Genre:
Rock/Pop: 47 (includes electronic)
Jazz: 2
Soul/Funk: 1
By Decade:
1950s: 1
1960s: 5
1970s: 11
1980s: 8
1990s: 12
2000s: 6
2010s: 7

By Year: My maximum were 3 albums from the same year (1989, 1995, 2015).

Own on Vinyl? 49 out of 50.

Edit #1: one more stat. Assuming no more changes, it looks like I have multiple albums by 5 different artists (3 artists have 2 albums on the list, 1 has 3, and another artist ended up with a whopping 4 albums!).

Edit #2: my top 5 is currently all British, which is funny considering that I’m from Brazil and live in the United States. As for the top 50:

UK: 26
US: 17
Canada: 5
Iceland: 1
Ireland: 1

40. The Adicts are one of my favorite punk outfits and yes, there are a lot punk groups in my favorites. This album is so fun.

39. I’m not telling you how to vote, but if at least one Cranberries album doesn’t top the overall top 50 I will be extremely disappointed. There’s 3 albums of theirs that I would place in my top 100.

38. I know this group won’t need any help getting multiple albums in the top 500 but I can’t take them off the list for that reason alone. This album has 3 of my top 5 Beatles songs.

37. I’ve always loved this album but never bothered looking into its history and impact until placing it on this list. It’s pretty damn impressive that it’s had such a gigantic impact after only selling 30k units initially. I haven’t looked it up on discogs but I bet those fetch a pretty penny65B64C26-F1A7-4F57-8F11-B7D31AE6689C.jpeg

36. There is no other album that from the very first note instantly make me want to prepare to abandon all regard for my old man body and thrash it wildly about. Such a great album all the way through. BA802684-951E-4E90-95D5-795C34FB7E22.jpeg
