Except it's not chicken... It's actually beef, battered and fried like fried chicken. And it's delicious.
Omg, I am not surprised one bit you like this Bohnjaggs, because you drink Soda at 6am in the morning before you go to work. You also don’t like water! You drinking that Soda constantly and enjoying food like this just makes you look like Homer Simpson or that Jewish dad from Big Mouth...like just so gross, unhealthy and fattening on the inside and will just eat artificial food and it will be your fave! 😂🤢❌🤢🆘

Look, I'm happy for you all with your chicken fried steak, and Imma let you finish, but Argentine milanesa is the best breaded fried beef OF ALL TIME!
OMG, I actually had this dish when I did the Patagonia region whilst in Argentina! The one I had was so yum! Loved it! 🤤👌

The U.S. would have so much good food of course! It would be endless with how many great restaurants and chefs and cafés and takeaway joints they have. But.....then there’s like bacon ice-cream and just all this other stuff so many Americans would love! Like so much artificial, processed, stuff!

Like @TenderLovingKiller® - that gross canned cheese they put on the Philly cheesesteak! Like that’s gross as! Put the provolone cheese or something similar! NOT CANNED CHEESE! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I still am so excited to go to the U.S. and eat amazing Mexican/Puerto Rican food on the West Coast, amazing Soul Food in the south and East Coast, and at all the great takeaway places over there! So excited to visit the U.S. in the future! 😍

looks like country fried steak just without the gravy.

Ah, but first off, there's Argentine beef in there! And, you can have milanesa napolitana:

Or milanesa a caballo, which is my favorite (yes, caballo means horse, but it's just because the eggs are riding it like a horse):

Or put it in a sandwich!

If you want Puerto Rican food (or Caribbean in general) you come to the east coast. NYC was/is the hub for Puerto Ricans coming to the US and then spreading out. I grew up about an hour from NYC and the PR pop is huge. You’ll be disappointed on the west coast.

Ooooo that’s great to know! I remember watching an episode of Munchies actually and I remember a Puerto Rican place they went to in Queens! And then I remember Queens was so ethnic and diverse in general! They have like a Korean neighbourhood, Vietnamese, Indian, Colombian, Cuban neighbourhoods too and the good looks amazing! Now that I think about it, you’re totally right!!! 💡

Can‘t wait to visit the U.S. one day! 🤗

Being a native of the hometown of Cracker Barrel I feel compelled to point out that their “Schtick” wasn’t the food or the gift shop. It was the location and hours. Originally, Cracker Barrel’s business model and demographic was largely about truckers. They kind of popularized the idea of restaurants being immediately off exits especially in remote areas. They used to be 24 hours as well. The food has become a bit more industrialized over the years but there are several items still made from scratch or made by small businesses who only serve CB. The food is extremely consistent. They pay well, retain employees, and have especially good benefits for a chain restaurant.

If you liked milanesa, you would like good chicken/country fried steak. Gravy not sure, but as with everything, huge difference between canned gravy and real homemade gravy.

A lot of places do make Philly cheese steaks with provolone. I agree about that canned cheese even if it might have been the "original" version, which it sounds like people argue about anyway.

Based on that description like that I'm guessing they also had a designated dumpster for disposing of the corpses of Hitchhikers? Or were they the original secret ingredient in the Cracker Barrel Gravy Fried Chicken Beef?

Hey @Joe Mac, I am absolutely loving the PJ Harvey 'Dry' reissue! It sounds great and it's such a great listen! It's my 3rd favourite album from PJ Harvey, with my two favourites being Rid Of Me and Is This Desire?

At first, I didn't care about the 'PJ Harvey demos', because I thought to myself "I'd rather just have all the reissues of the studio albums". Then I remember you saying ages ago that you prefer the 4-Track Demos (Rid Of Me - Demos) moreso than the studio album Rid Of Me! I pre-ordered Rid Of Me, but actually thought "wait a minute, Joe actually prefers the demos more". So I went back and listened to the Dry - Demos, and I absolutely LOVE it! I love the stripped back, acoustic, raw sound of it all. It's incredible and now I'm definitely buying PJ Harvey's Dry - Demos. The Discogs reviews for the pressing is great too, so I know I'm in for a treat!

I'm listening to the 4-Track Demos and the tracklisting and it's really different to the original track listing to the studio version of Rid Of Me! And you know what.....I think I actually prefer 4-Track Demos to Rid Of Me as well, it's just so raw, emotive and that yearning, sex, rough, weary, frustrated, psychotic, aggressive, break-up aesthetic really comes alive on the 4-Track Demos moreso and I love it! And I love those muffled, distorted guitar notes that dominate a lot of the 4-Track Demos tracks too! Like, how much better is the demo version of "Legs" compared to the studio version! It's so much more expressive, and her yelping and yearning and squealing are more heartfelt and intense! Like, when I heard that demo, I was like to myself "omg, I can see why Joe prefers this more than the studio album"! Like, the imagery feels more real with the demo version of Legs.

I feel a bit crazy saying this but I think 4-Track Demos is my second favourite thing after Is This Desire? It's just so freaking good! And I love the the tracks "Driving" and "Reeling" too, which seem like leftovers from Rid Of Me, as they aren't on the studio album! Reeling is so catchy and I love the production on it so much! Literally would have been one of the best tracks if it was included on Rid Of Me!

I cannot wait to get 4-Track Demos on vinyl and I can't wait to get all of the Pj Harvey - Demos on vinyl now! I feel so spoilt! Also omg, how intense is PJ Harvey's yelping and moaning on the demo of "Snake"! Gave me goosebumps! Like, I do not remember the studio version of Snake being so intense in comparison!

Yeah 4 track demos is great, it’s the one I was familiar with before this reissue series because it’s always been available and always been great and yeah that version of Snake is right on the ragged edge. The most impressive thing about both sets of demos so far is just how fully formed the songs were even at demo stage, they’re all there, just a bit rawer. You should check out the peel seasons album too, I’m really hoping that it’s also going to be a part of this reissue series!

That's exactly what I thought too after listening to Dry - Demos & 4-Track Demos too; they were impressively already very formed at the demo stage! That's why at first I was reluctant to get any of the PJ Harvey's demo reissues; I assumed it would all be super average and non-essential in comparison to the studio albums. But boy was I wrong! They are magnificent and as a result, I had no hesitation pre-ordering the To Bring You My Love - Demos! I'm so excited to check out the Peel Sessions album now that you recommended it! 😊
