I like that Nyquist deal...yes not as good as Duchene or Bread, but I think our young guys time to step up will be this season. Look for Bjorkstrand and Anderson to soar, while young guys like Texier and Emil Bemstrom add to the mix

That’s a nice deal for the Leafs. I’m sure Kadri would still be there if it weren’t for his bonehead plays during the playoffs.

I think Kadri as the third-best centre on the team was just kind of not using him to his potential, so trading him for a top-pair RHD and a good defensive C is pretty perfect. I truly doubt the playoff suspensions had much to do with it. It's just dealing from a position of strength to plug a pretty massive hole. The retained salary on Barrie blows my mind, though. I'm glad Kadri is at least going to my second favourite team.

i think Neal has a higher chance of bouncing back. Does Neal have any sort of NMC? that would be interesting for an upcoming expansion draft

Neal has a much higher chance of bouncing back (he shot 5% this past season) and Lucic has a pretty much buyout-proof contract. I don't see what's in it for Calgary at all.
