MoFi UltraDeck / StudioDeck Owners and those interested

I’ve had no issues. Grados are very polarizing. The “hate” camp finds any reason (real or imagined) to dump on them.
May I ask which notch your anti-skate is set to? Love what I've been hearing out of the Grado recently, been really opening up but have definitely been experiencing some IGD, not on all pressings but certainly on a few *could IGD be pressing specific?*

I like my SD. Never heard a Cliffwood, but I think I'd like it too. @HayesWeighsIn prefers the Cliffwood to both the SD and UD.
Yup, my ear just gravitates to the VPI sound. I wanted a set and forget deck - my partner enjoys spinning, and going the next rung up the VPI ladder means unipivot, which I don't want to subject her to! Haha. I do wish I had further adjustability, and both the SD and UD are stellar trackers, the UD incredibly so. I've got the Cliffwood about as dialed as it can be, and I think if I were buying at full retail today, I would potentially go a different route, but seeing as I got it for less than half of what they retail for now, hard to argue with how great this thing continues to sound.

ATTN Grado Folks: Do you all have pretty noticeable IGD with your carts on your UDs? Seems the internet is saying Grados are notorious for their IGD, any fixes to try? Anti-skate?
You came from a 2M Blue, correct?

I've got a fair amount of low-mid range MM's under my belt, and I think that far and away the 2M Blue is the most forgiving when it comes to IGD and top end sibilance and distortion. As close to digital up top as you can get, but you sacrifice elsewhere. You will absolutely notice more of it with a Grado. I also tend to re-align a fair amount until I get it right to where my ears are happy, and I know you got it factory mounted and aligned, but with all the adjustability of the UD, you may be able to further dial it to alleviate some of that IGD.

EDIT: Adding as I further read the thread, @Ghost - another vote of confidence to run the antiskate light if it sounds good to you! The VPI folks swear by virtually no antiskate. It won't hurt anything.

VPI has *just* the step-up for you, without the uni-pivot! It's only 5x the MSRP of the Cliffwood...
The price gap between the Cliffwood and the Prime 21 is the sweet spot where MoFi dominates.

Haha, exactly. Their big boy gimbals (err, Fatboy to be proper!) are crazy $$. I have definitely thought about going for a b-stock or secondhand Prime Scout, but I really don't want something so fiddly that it'll a) drive me nuts or b) dissuade my partner from wanting to spin.

Here’s an off the beaten path option that looks interesting. Gold Note of Italy. $1299

Aww, come on! You can always join the two 'table crew. We don't scratch or crossfade, but we do have fun!
