This is still in rotation from yesterday and it fits, so...

Musician. Writer. Poet. Filmmaker. Actor. Shaman. Lizard King. Drunkard.

Also, this set smokes. Bruce Botnick's mastering is sublime. Top-shelf sound and pressing. So much fun to listen to these songs flesh out.

The Doors - L.A. Woman Sessions

I was contemplating getting this when I was buying other RSD releases last week but didn't.

Glad to see it still available at many online shops....and I was waiting a bit to get paid on Friday, so it has now been ordered.

Day 1 - Lazarus

It was about 14 years since his last score for Ghosts Of Mars when this was released. He's made a 2nd career out of it with the help of his son and god son, releasing 4 solo albums and scoring all 3 of the new Halloween movies.

John Carpenter – Lost Themes
Sacred Bones Records – SBR-123, 2015/2017

Cut by Sam John at Precise Mastering
Pressed at Rainbo

Weezer - Pinkerton

Lead singer going to Harvard after this album, a long time until the next one, and a completely different career trajectory, this one has it all.

My favorite Weezer album and one where the initial negative reviews were unfortunate to say the least.

D'ANGELO AND THE VANGUARD "BLACK MESSIAH" (2015 RCA)
It was 14 years since the release of Voodoo when songs from Black Messiah surprise-dropped right before Christmas 2014.

Sam Phillips - Martinis & Bikinis

This is her seventh album but only the third under this name. She had a prior career as a contemporary Christian singer using her given name. The photos from the cover/inserts got the attention of someone in Hollywood which landed her a role as a villain in Die Hard With A Vengeance.

Day 1

Lazarus

Gordon had been an in demand sideman during the 40s and the hey day of bebop. The 50s saw him battle drug addiction and in& out of prison.

He re-emerged in the 60s to begin the first of three resurgences! Blue Note made him a leader of ensembles and he made some of the finest Hard Bop records with them.

This album comes from his second phase with Blue Note when he was primarily based in Europe.

In my opinion this is one of the best Tone Poet reissues

Well this was fun to learn. When Jim Martin left Faith No More he became a competitive giant pumpkin grower. But since that probably doesn't pay the bills it looks like he's also a landbastard.

Day 1 Lazarus
The Breeders - Last Splash

Kimm Deal played bass and occasionally sang next to black Francis in the Pixies. Her second career started as z side project with pod but after the Pixies imploded became her second career fully with the Last Splash and the iconic cannonball

Got a little too busy to complete the April challenge, but I’m gonna try my best to complete this month’s…

Day 1: Lazarus

Justin Timberlake
- FutureSex/LoveSounds

Not as extreme as some of the other artists that’ve been played so far, but JT likes to take his time in between albums, ranging from 4-7 years in-between (outside of the 20/20 Experience two-parter). He also spent most of the 7 years between FSLS & The 20/20 Experience acting in films which he still does today.
