very nice, I got it for much less than the tag and got to preview it on a vintage system at the shop. It's a mono though so you may want to think about that mono box soon. It's real good deal on Amz right now, like $10 off when i looked it up.
 
Took a long drive with my lady after work to dig in a pastor’s garage boxes. He’s selling on consignment, so he won’t go low on any.

He’s an odd one; age 83 and still picks up these full boxes. And he has prison tats on his arms; in fact he has been in prison and found God while in solitary. Something to flesh out the story a bit.

His claim is the sleeves are rough but the records are all nice, which is blatantly false. Bad form, padre! Have to check every one I want to buy. Ended up with 48, he won’t come down on quantity, so I pay up.

These are some highlights. Many are for resale, but others I am keeping. Been beating myself up with blowing my vinyl budget each month so I am trying a new tactic, 1 in 1 out. Traded in 6 items this month and 6 incoming so the collection is the same size still. Hopefully this easier to do.

Pretenters - S/T (2022 reissue, think it is pressed at Optimal, either way sounds nice)

After a worrying 6 day halt at customs, my VMP package arrived this morning. I finished reading the Coltrane booklet and im now more excited than ever to hear this pressing, fingers crossed it's a good one!

The pressing is not bad but not amazing to be honest. It’s a generic GZ mastered cut. I know it was recorded digitally, but wish they put a bit more effort into the cut. Hopefully someone does a really great reissue one day. The album is so good!

Here is the conclusion I am coming to with the mono summing cable trick.
It's really just for surface noise reduction. IMHO

Clean pressings that are of high quality and especially new, do not necessarily need the channels summed.
One person on SHF with a Naim Audio NAC-252 recently stated they can't hear the difference turning their mono switch on and off.
That's a very telling reference for me. Should be one of the best hifi switches out there.
