Parlophone Records is proud to announce release details for DAVID BOWIE 'BRILLIANT LIVE ADVENTURES' a series of six live albums from the 1990s which will be released on vinyl and CD as limited one run only pressings. There will also be special limited edition boxes for both vinyl and CD to house the full collection. The albums and boxes will only be available via the David Bowie official store and Warner Music Group’s Dig! store. Brilliant Live Adventures (1995 - 1999)

The first three albums and the special limited edition boxes will be released pre-Christmas, with the remaining three albums coming early next year.

The first release on CD and double vinyl is DAVID BOWIE OUVREZ LE CHIEN (LIVE DALLAS 95), previously a streaming only live album which was recorded live at the Starplex Amphitheater, Dallas, 13th October, 1995, during the U.S. leg of the Outside tour. The title OUVREZ LE CHIEN ("open the dog" in French) originally appeared in the song ‘All The Madmen’ taken from The Man Who Sold The World album which celebrates its 50th anniversary later this year. Bowie also used the phrase in the lyrics of his 1993 single ‘Buddha Of Suburbia’, once again spelling “ouvre" without a Z. The Z was restored when the phrase and its English translation were prominently featured in the stage set of the 1995 Outside tour.

OUVREZ LE CHIEN was produced by David Bowie and recorded by Steve Guest. The musicians are David Bowie – vocals and saxophone, Carlos Alomar – rhythm guitar, Reeves Gabrels – lead guitar and vocals, Gail Ann Dorsey – bass and vocals, Zachary Alford – drums, Peter Schwartz - musical director, keyboards and synthesisers, George Simms – vocals, Mike Garson – piano and keyboards.

The cover image of OUVREZ LE CHIEN was taken by Iman during the ’95 tour.

So that’s the box set alluded too...6 lp’s/cds to buy individually , and then a separate charge for a blank box to put them in...

..so I’m in!

£11.99 for the first live cd and a bargain £12 for the cd box ....and £6.70 post!

Vinyl was £25 plus £17 for the box

I am glad the slipcases sold out. Ordered the vinyl from Warners Canada and the shipping price was actually reasonable (9 CanuckBucks)

Edit: weirdly the Bowie website lists the shipping date as Oct 28 and Warners lists it as December 4

I’m considering skipping this one and saving up for the release from the Earthling Tour. What are the odds I would regret this choice? I never cared for 1. Outside.

I think this is a good concert. You can stream it now to see what you think. The set list is a good mix of songs from Outside and older songs

Maybe I should rephrase... can someone here give me a good reason not to buy this album? And then the next 5 live albums? It doesn't help that I've been on a live Bowie kick lately, so the new few weeks could be really damaging to my wallet!

Wondering what the other releases will be? My guess is LiveandWell and Something in the Air which were both released this year on streaming. Probably also the 50th birthday BBC special. Wonder if they would release the actual MSG Birthday concert?

Amazon UK has finally dropped the Loving the Alien Boxset to under £150. Took their time!

I'm waiting for Amazon.ca to drop it below C$200. That's what I paid for both Boxes 2 and 3.

It's been hovering around the C$220-250 range lately, so it's getting there.
