It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

I’d totally be on board if Apple were to expand into Europe. Knowing exactly where I can watch and having zero blackouts is the way. One thing the video doesn’t touch on is that if you’re already an Apple subscriber the season pass is $79 annually.

They completely sat out the domestic tv rights for the PL when it came to market earlier in the summer. It was an enormous amount of money, but equally is chicken feed for that company.

Maybe they’ll take on another league like La Liga? I just want ESPN out of the picture. So if Apple or Paramount can make that happen, I’ll be on board.

I suppose it depends on numbers. I think European leagues are hard for global operators like Apple or Netflix. They want to offer standard package across their subscribers bases. MLS is handy, it’s not expensive, they can legibility position themselves as a global growth partner and they can secure entire world rights. They can also pitch the price for a season pass competitively.

I think the way that European leagues attract a premium domestically and have a vested interest into splitting their sales into individual territories means that it probably takes the price over what Apple would be willing to charge their users for an extra subscription or season pass kind of deal.

I hope they don't touch the PL. I can't do the Apple stuff
