Anybody get the red vinyl? I've tried two copies and both sound terrible. Such a shame because it's such a beautiful record. I'd be curious to hear if anyone has a plain black one that sounds good...
Anybody else's Membership tab asking you to Join Now? It used to say what plan I was on, tracks, etc. Now it's acting as if im not signed up. Was on a 12 month plan.
It's not a carbon copy, but there are a definately few guitar riffs with Annie's pop and tone. Her influence ain't nothin. But I totally agree the critique is overblown.
About time they connect with Fania. I'm a big salsa head so I likely have everything they are going to reissue, but the notion that the reissues will be AAA at least makes me feel good for folks who pick them up.
Vamos!
Strawberry season... Muddled w mint, pot stilled and white rum, lime of course, falernum, touch of cognac and amaro abano... The Siembra Daquiri!
Are we still doing cocktails in this forum?
I definitely have albums (even minty new ones...cough... new National...cough) that I pine for upgrades. But WAP doesn't scream for one. Maybe that kind of trippy jam on side 2 might get more revelatory.
Does a convo go here about whether current black vinyl version of WAPhoenix is worth a duplicate based on analogue sourcing alone? Spinning now and not sure what I want to listen for to identify reasons to double up...
