I listened to it briefly yesterday, and it's good but I don't know that it's that good.

I've been super behind on new music this year, but these are my top 5 as of now in no order:
1. Laura Stevenson - The Big Freeze
2. State Faults - Clairvoyant
3. Mannequin Pussy - Patience
4. Kishi Bashi - Omoiyari
5. The Tallest Man On Earth - I Love You. It's A Fever Dream.
Also, thanks @wokeupnew for recommending Bodywash, I've been listening to that the last few days! It's really fantastic.

That Tallest Man on Earth is really good. I hated it at first but I’ve done a full 180 with it. It’s easily better than Dark Bird is Home. I was also thrown off by the cover which looks really slick and the fact that his YouTube channel which he’s been active with is very professional and polished for his songs. I had a bias that it was going to follow that even though it’s not really like that. It’s more stripped down but not as Lo-fi.
I had a similar experience, mostly with the album cover. I automatically assumed I wasn't going to like the music as much which was so stupid, because the album is spectacular. I also like it more than Dark Bird.
I really do miss his earlier album covers though... I wish he had stuck with that format or whatever you'd call it. It just suits his music so well. He didn't ask me though
