Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

For the record I just wrote them a letter, it is as follows...

I just wanted to write a quick note about this Joel Ross Exclusive pressing from BlueNote that you guys put out this month. The music is great but this is a really disappointing pressing and package considering the price. This is a noisy record, every quiet passage is just covered in background noise and fuzz, and it's covered in pops and clicks likely from the super cheap paper sleeves that it was shipped with because they're basically sandpaper on any vinyl they touch. With the high quality pressings that VMP puts out every month in the classics subscription it's really disappointing to pay $33 USD for a Bluenote album and have it arrive with the cheapest gatefold and paper inner sleeves possible and to have the actual pressing of the album be so bad. This is worse than any of my Bluenote 75 pressings, and they are RENOWN for how bad they are but at least they only cost about 18 dollars each brand new.

I don't know that's there's specifically anything wrong with my copy that isn't the same on all the rest of them but if VMP is trying to make a name for itself when it comes to high quality audiophile quality releases these types of pressings shouldn't happen or at the very least they should be about 10 dollars cheaper. I don't usually say this when it comes to VMP but I feel like I got ripped off on this one.

-I'm sure they'll just offer me another which will sound exactly the same but I just think they need to hear this stuff sometimes...

eh a copy to give away isn't a terrible thing

People still get SirusXM?
Also, Day For Night is getting reissued on silver vinyl and half speed mastered black vinyl. It's on sale on Amazon for dirt cheap (at least on the Canada site). Highly recommend picking this up. All the latest Tragically Hip pressings have been very nice

Thank you for alerting me of this!!! Pre-ordered the half-speed master.

Well worded, if mine sounds the same when I listen to it I will send an email as well.

Tyler responded and offered to replace the album but also offered some credit's instead since I wasn't really claiming I got a bad one, more that it just wasn't a good pressing in general. So as usual CS steps up which is nice but doesn't solve the issue really. Still, I'm glad they've heard my complaint. I'll likely take the credits but if anyone gets a clean copy I will try for another, but I'm very much doubting that will happen, I suspect this is just what this one sounds like unfortunately...

Maybe down the road. Next month will be the Betchez Edition, however: Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette
Don’t forget to grab yourself a copy of this month’s Canadian Rap & Hip-Hop sub: Snow - 12 Inches of Snow. This all-time great comes exclusively In hockey puck black coloured vinyl and a coupon for Tim Horton’s coffee.

Our Canadian Classics side-sub is just an endless stream of Glenn Gould and Oscar Peterson.

Tim Hortons coffee sucks now. Sorry America. It used to be okay, but ever since they got taken over by the foreign conglomerate they've gone WAY downhill. Truck stop coffee now.
💯% That's why I drink Second Cup coffee instead. I supposed it helps that I won coffee for life! 😁
