What's Spinning

Throwing this here as I don't see any other discussion...

when I was entering my copy of Ride ‎– This Is Not A Safe Place into Discogs, it was discovered that some variants are 33 1/3 RPM and some are 45 RPM.

The black variant I got from Amazon is 45...pressed at GZ.

It seems that some of the more deluxe color variants pressed and cut at Optimal are 33 1/3.

Just a heads up.

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!

Like I said, I didn't take pictures of the first two records, but here's number 3:
#1 - Aesop Rock - Labor Days
#2 - Aesop Rock - Skelethon

#3 - Aesop Rock - The impossible kid

Nice one. I tried something similar but with 2000 records it was a tougher ask. In the first six months, I managed to spin 931 pieces of vinyl, which broke down to 707 albums (some were doubles and triples) and 354 different releases according to Vinyl Scrobbler (I play all fresh grabs at least three times before shelving them). Good luck!

The Smashing Pumpkins - Shiny And Oh So Bright Vol 1 / LP: No Past, No Future, No Sun (2018)

Such a great comeback record. Not every song is fantastic, but the ones that are are REALLY fantastic. Love this beautiful translucent violet color that my camera refuses to show off well. Hope Volume 2 (and 3) are just as good!

Also, Knights of Malta and Solara are fucking amazing songs live
