Needles & Grooves AoTM /// Vol. 3 - September 2019 /// Nicole Atkins - Goodnight, Rhonda Lee

Angel Olson isn’t pop though?
My Woman contains a poppier, more diverse sound. Musical genres and musicians that influenced the album includes Fleetwood Mac, The Shirelles, Crazy Horse, 1970s glam rock, 1960s country pop and grunge.[3][5] The album's opening track, "Intern," is a synthpop song that was considered to be a major departure from Olsen's previous works.[6][7] Written as an experiment to "fuck with people," Olsen said of "Intern," "I have some friends who make synth music and I thought it might be fun to do something sarcastic."[7] Critics have compared "Never Be Mine" to 1960s jangle pop and Spanish guitar music.[8][9] The album's closer, "Pops," is a piano ballad.

Tee wouldn’t say “it’s pop even Gouis will like” and then pick a pitchfork approved indie artist. That’s insane.

i listened to nicole atkins and wasn't really digging it (mostly because of general disinterest in country)
Assumptions are being made.

You know what they say when you assume??????

(I asked google for an assume gif. It gave me this. Let's not question google today, lest we anger the internet gods more than I clearly already have).
