Sounds Delicious

Listened to it tonight. IMO, the Jenn Champion/Weezer album is the only one of the last 10 of these that unlocks the full fun of a talented indie artist doing something cool to a seminal record.

I didn't expect 10 releases to go back 4 years. The Jenn Campion is great. Gems is probably one of my favorites though. I enjoyed Full Moon Fever and Siamese Dream a lot. And I've gone back to Pacific Ocean Blue a few times because of how different it was than I expected.

Got the last three in one package and had time to finally listen. i like that Sorja Richardson a lot. Quivers version of out of time i also really enjoyed , but i´m also a big REM fan. I enjoy the mixed male/female vocals on that one. I like moon safari a lot but i think dave Deppers version does not really add anything. I´m probbaly not enough of a musician to appreciate the detailes in the cahnges of instrumentation but overall find it all on the too true to the original side of cover versions.

What is this company doing? The email today said they're officially announcing their next record as the one we received last year??
weird for sure. it seems like a bigger, general announcement for their store selling it outside the sub as it notes that SD subscribers may have already received theirs, but like you said I feel like I got this a while ago (although admittedly I haven't listened to it yet) so why the big announcement now?

I’m just kinda surprised/in awe of how low key the acknowledgment has been. They do note delays in their emails and offer to work something out for folks who’d rather have refunds or other records to cover what they’ve spent but (and this is a bigger curiosity for me) what was a seemingly awesome project that made waves in the collector world seems to now be forgotten entirely by everyone.

Hey friends,

We're excited to announce the release of White Bike's cover of The Postal Service's iconic album Give Up. This limited-edition vinyl album is only available by subscribing to our SOUNDS DELICIOUS vinyl record club.

White Bike is a Portland-based band made up of husband-and-wife duo Nathan Trueb and Mirabai Carter, alongside lead vocalist Arianna Anchustegui and drummer Robin Levy. Their take on Give Up is a gritty guitar pop reimagining of the original album's glitchy electronic synthpop. They stayed close to the arrangements of the original record, but they weren't shy about reharmonization, changing feels or tempos, and switching up instrumentation altogether.

It's a joy to hear these songs in a new light on the 20th anniversary of the original release of Give Up back in 2003. White Bike grew up with these songs as the soundtrack to their childhood and teenage years, and they wanted to pay tribute to them in their own way.

This one is limited to under 1000 copies and more than half are already gone. Order now and score this on milky clear vinyl. I expect the remaining copies to go fast. It's already available in the store - so go ahead and grab a copy now.

I got the Yumi Zouma from their bandcamp. Enjoyed it but the pressing is just MEH and it was too expensive....are any of the other ones actually good quality? Born to Run seemed like it could be fun...

honestly, overall they're pretty good and enjoyable, but the company had really soured me on the whole thing that I don't know what to think anymore...I haven't even listened to the last one they sent me

That’s kinda the impression I’ve gotten from a lot of people. I’ll skip out on ordering from them.

Has anyone got what was promised to them on the Kickstarter yet? I backed the Kickstarter and then emailed to opt out of the custom box in lieu of the coffee + 7” and that was YEARS ago. Now it just feels like it’s not happening and they refuse to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

I think it’s just both egregious and boring. They simply haven’t able to get bands to record albums at any kind of pace and vinyl production lead times ballooned like within a year of their launch. I believe they’ve offered people to get at least their money back in store credit

Only 3 songs in but this new one is probably my favorite in a long while. White Bike understood the assignment.

that was the previous release? I don't think I've ever listened to my copy. I'd probably be willing to sell, PIF, or whatever
