Would definitely love to hear an A/B of the original vs. VMP. I have an original from 20 years ago that has been spun to death so I love the album it's just.. I dunno, I'm VERY skeptical of rap records being remastered at 45rpm so if you can comment on the quality comparison between those two.. that'd be awesome!

Yeh I was planning on getting it. I just missed out on a copy local for only 30 AUD (VMP version) so kicking myself I didnt grab it.

On the "classic" front in terms of RHH albums from this decade, I think Kanye's MBDTWF and Kendrick's To Pimp A Butterfly are the only ones that unquestionably deserve that moniker at this point. There's a whole bunch of other albums that are a tier below and are in the time will tell category.

Hopefully the pick is from that tier instead of just something that is/was popular...though I'm not convinced it will be.

I'll check em out tonight and compare. Far from an audiophile as my equipment if I explained to tell would explain but I'll check and see if I notice any difference. Havent spun them enough or in a long time to know right now

Because they are heads and shoulders above any other in terms of critical acclaim, they’re the respective “best” albums of two of the most notable rap artists of this generation and they’re likely two of the strongest contenders for album of the decade on all of the soon forthcoming lists. Furthermore, time since they’ve been released has done nothing to lessen their impact or stature (in fact I’d say it’s increased for both).

Not to say that everyone should view them as the two best albums of the genre or that others aren’t worthy, it’s just those two are so widespread in their acclaim. FWIW, I feel that GKMC could have been included in that list as well, it’s either in that list or the top of the next tier.

There’s definitely YG’s My Krazy Life being a possibility but I highly doubt it as it recently got a vinyl pressing 🤷‍♂️

I’d really happy with either Vince Staples or Pusha T! I prefer Summertime 06’ more than My Name is My Name, but the singles ‘Numbers On The Boards’, ‘Nosetalgia’ and ‘King Push’ for me, are better than any tracks on Summertime 06’!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Exactly how I feel! It would also be awesome to get a cool looking variant of Big Fish Theory instead of that ugly picture-disc pressing that’s currently available. But I prefer Summertime 06’ more over Big Fish Theory!

I’m actually so excited for the announcement of September’s R&HH ROTM! I think it will be a hit! 😁
