I worked for a radio station in the late 90s and our programming director was a guy who basically stopped liking new music when Kurt Cobain died. We got the promo for The Closer I Get, and he must have hated it, because it ended up in his trashcan. I went through his trash every evening because I knew all the good stuff ended up in there. I'm really psyched for the new album!

They are the literal embodiment of the old cliche, "your favorite band's favorite band." Didn't know about these guys until I saw Waxahatchee posting about them on her Insta.

when I saw her in 2021 at Pitchfork, most if not all of Bonny Doon was in her backing band. they covered "Long Wave" (I think, memory's foggy on that one, but it's their big "hit") and it was great.

I learned about them via Waxahatchee too. Prior to the release of her last album she played Tacoma and Bonny Doon was both her opening act and backing band (Real Estate’s Alex Bleeker was sitting in on Bass) I was very impressed and purchased their most recent album from the merch table but it was even better than I suspected I absolutely loved it and listen to it frequently along with their debut which is about as good.
