HMV has some other titles in the series I was looking for but are listed as that. CDjapan has better prices though and a rewards program/coupons. can’t recall price difference for shipping

I’m pretty sure prices between HMV and CD Japan are the same. HMV shows tax included 4,400 yen total, but 400 is tax that gets removed in shopping cart, and CD Japan doesn’t show tax. Both end up at 4,000 yen as far as I can tell. Did you get a different result?

My only experience w HMV for “in stock within 2-3 days” is when an item is in stock at one of their Lawson stores and they have to have it sent. Very reliable for that. My very uneducated guess is that HMV is pretty buttoned up and, if they say it’ll be in stock, I’d assume it’ll be in stock.

Ah maybe it’s just tax then. CD Japan has a 1,000 yen off coupon if you spend 10,000 yen or more too at the moment plus rewards points.

Good to know CD JP has better rewards than HMV. Woudn’t have mattered to me for this bc CD JP didn’t have Round About Midnight and HMV did, but I’ll keep it in mind for next. I had 700 yen in coupons w/ HMV so not a huge diff.

Looks like HMV Just started a 20% off over 10,000 yen orders promotion today but for the life of me can’t figure out how to get the promotion to apply. Everything in my cart says it’s eligible but there’s no price reduction when I go through to check out?

Maybe the 20% off is different, but the latest promo I got from them will be applied when the items I purchased ship and will be valid for my next purchase.

On a separate note, I’ve got some bits on order from HMV Japan and they’re all in stock and should ship same day but it’s 10 days later and still not shipped. I emailed yesterday and they replied today to apologise and just say that they are very busy. Just mentioning in case anyone is in a hurry for stuff from there, now may not be the best time to order.

Thanks, that’s good to know. I also have a few records that are processing for over a week now (three blind mice reissue). Was thinking if emailing them next week, but now I guess I won’t need to bother them.

I ordered four of those, too, thanks to you all. I emailed last week and they told me the same thing—they’re swamped with orders. But the order shipped the next day. It’s now stuck in Chicago for a week. Pretty reasonable timing, all in all, but I’ve been spoiled by those Record City orders arriving in 3 days—and for half the shipping costs!

HMV used to be cheaper. They bumped things up earlier this year after the yen tanked

Hope not! I thought maybe that was it too but weird that it popped up around the same time someone posted the AS one on discogs cut by RKS. If it’s not the AS one, it’s going back!

I saw that too but nobody “has” it per Discogs yet. There wasn’t an AS one I totally missed right? I remember Chad saying they would never go to Alice titles specifically and that he was going to let others press them (which seems to be what Verve is doing by reviving the By Request series).

Well it looks like Center Stage jumped the gun on Chad, who also went back on his word about not pressing Alice 🤣

Someone on the VMP discord has a connect he was buying test pressings from. The guy claimed that AS was supposedly doing Journey for that AS series but now it might be killed.
