I might honestly but every single one of these
Wow that’s some awesome stuff. Looks like I’ll be focusing my disposable income on Blue Note!

Knockout. Whoever is curating is doing an amazing job. This series is SO much more interesting than the Tone Poet series.

to be somewhat fair, they refuse to double dip on Tone Poet vs MMJ so that's part of why the BN Classic series has some better titles. But agree--these are all really fantastic reissues. Curious to see the next batch of TP titles too.

Really hoping they use one of the series’ to reissue Sonny Rollins Vol. 1 and 2 together. I know MMJ did it, and I believe one of them was a 75th anniversary title, but would be great to have some more audiophile Sonny on Blue Note.

I picked up a copy of the Disk Union cut of Vol 1 not too long ago on eBay for a good price (granted it had a generic white sleeve and that's why it was affordable) but it kills. Would love to see Vol 1 + 2 together as a TP too...

I read this as Henry Rollins and was like WTF

Agree. But despite no double dipping, it does seem to me that the curation of TP is very conservative and risk-free.

Joe seems reluctant to go much into 70's BN. There are plenty of gems there (and the AP series has some that could be well served by being de-Hoffman-ized).

Caddy for Daddy ranks well above Curtain Call.

Demon's Dance and Bout Soul are far more essential than Tippin The Scales.

Why no Turrentine - The Spoiler, or Never Let Me Go?

Horace Silver's Pursuit of the 27th Man is a fantastic album, never reissued. Why?

Larry Young - Mothership? Heaven on Earth? Should be prime TP material.

Why not put Donald Byrd's Half Note together into a double album?

I appreciate what we have gotten, but...IMO it could be so much more, and give a much wider perspective on the history of BN than it does - but the Classic series is doing.

If anybody gets any of these can you let me know the quality? Really interested in Pneuma and Tauhid but want to know how they sound before going for them with US shipping

Sadly discogs has not better info yet either. What I find so funny is that Verve constantly seems to be half-assing it with their reissues that last 4 years and Blue Note has knocked them out with BN80, Classics and Tone Poets. They are all owned by the same parent group UMG.

Just trying out Pneuma.
It looks like Daniel Krieger from SST has put his name to the deadwax.
Sound on side one has been excellent, clean, dynamic and with silent silence which is important on this side.
Side two is shaping up well too. A much more musical side and the instruments sound clear, well defined, the piano, violin and percussion all sound wonderful to me - In the same league as the BN Classics/TPs that I've heard so far.
Definitely a shame that the sleeve is a single straight to board print and not a nice replica. The inner images from the gatefold have been reproduced well onto a printed paper inner but I'd have paid extra for a better treatment of this. That being said, for a budget release, the audio is really nice.

Did you get Tauhid as well? I might see if these pop up in the US. If not might grab some from the series from Juno or wherever has them.

Yeah, I stuck with Pneuma and Tauhid. I’ve got the week off work from Monday so I’m hoping to squeeze a listen back to back with the Anthology release from a few years back.

I may grab Pneuma, Tauhid and Visions but wanted to hear thoughts on Tauhid before I order them! Can't seem to find any copies for sale in the US.
