We keep two JBL Charge 3/4 in the laundry room. Take one around or out when needed, the other stays charged. That way we always have a back up if one dies. The only thing that’s consistently annoying is the 3 and 4 use different chargers (usb mini and USB-C) so we have to keep both cords around.

I quite like the ikea Sonos and it allowed for some cheap multi room setups for me. I think the bookshelf ones are only $99. And don’t have to worry about charging them since they plug in. We have a few other Sonos too (sound bar and got Sonos 1s as a wedding present for the rear surrounds).

No need to have something burn because you went to flip a record, have run out groove dragging because you had your hands full, or worst of all… get your records dirty with nasty cooking hands.

Nah I like doing it at the same time. My old place was more like one big room and it was easy to do both. I'm not a cooking n00b so I'm not going to burn things or get my records dirty.

Just do what I did and buy the speakers. Then when they show up and your wife asks what is in the boxes, you say speakers. Hook them up, give her a week and she’ll love them. Worked for me. 😁

I think your options may vary. I’ve had issues with Bluetooth going through plaster walls + traveling across a bigger space. Not sure how far away your kitchen is from the turntable. But if you go the Bluetooth route, you’d need a transmitter on one side and a Bluetooth receiver on the other side. You’d also need a powered set of speakers in the kitchen, or another amp + passive speakers (or a Bluetooth speaker).

Could look for a used Sonos Port which I think would turn your current rig into a Sonos system and be able to broadcast your TT to Sonos speakers across your house/apartment. May be the most “elegant” solution but also not the cheapest…

I looked probably 2 years ago to find a solution similar to what you’re looking for and ended up just going with a digital streaming set up and added in Sonos/Roon. I couldn’t find a simple solution that provided good quality sound from my TT to another set of speakers wirelessly in another room. Since I looked, the sonos port was released but I’m still happy I went with a digital setup.

It's right on the other side of the wall so I think it could work. Our house is an 'American Foursquare'.

I'm just gonna drill some holes and lay the speaker wire. Seems the best solution.
 
There have been a few posts here linking to external reviews or videos about it, but has anyone actually heard the Leak Stereo 130? I am incredibly attracted to the look of it. I may be replacing my vintage Nikko receiver with a new integrated and would miss the wood if it were gone—most modern audio equipment is very boring aesthetically to me—but don't want to buy based on looks alone, obviously. (Also because it's quite a bit more expensive than the others I've been looking into: the Audiolab 6000A and, on the lower end, the NAD 316 to power a future set of Wharfedale Lintons.) I know a few of you have one of those amps with those speakers, so I'm mainly inquiring about the Leak, but any feedback is helpful. Any experience?
