I like the idea of picked by and the tag/profile picture of the choser. I don’t think there needs to be a write up but a little blurb like on the back jacket of a book might be nice.

Yeah, as simple as possible. We can print the notes by ourselves and have them added to the records if we want. @Alexander is it easy for you to interchange (is is the right word?) with the record's name on the right and the logo on the left? Maybe the avatar could be added below the record name?

This looks genuinely amazing. I definitely like the color scheme and look more than VMP's, black and yellow just looks gorgeous to me. :love::love:

EDIT: I also like that the strip is square here versus the weird triangle shape VMP does. never liked it tbh

That is where we would need to be creative instead of doing something that has been done before, I freely admitted I didn't have an idea. Again this is just a thought but I can see people would just rather argue against the idea than think about another idea so I will just drop it.

I know I'm being cheeky now, but the case could be made that you are also arguing against obis rather than to think about another idea. ;)

I think at some point it becomes counterproductive and creatively restricting to try to reinvent the wheel. I see this as needing to:

1. be simple and cheap;
2. Differentiate the record from the crowd on the shelf;
3. Make it clear it’s from the n&g forum album club; and
4. Look great.

This accomplishes all these things. In my mind it’s being pointlessly obtuse to argue otherwise.

I get your argument here @Enoch but I also think obi's transcend VMP. They are also incredibly practical to our aim with this 'club' as it allows each person to print their own, rather than having to have one person ship whatever the extra is to individual members. Much more DIY.

Im also a fan of the spine being unified (which the obi would allow for) to make them stand out of the shelf, similar to the Impulse! orange spines.
