New ultrasonic vinyl cleaner in the works: Humminguru

There’s also a Facebook group for this and they are very responsive to posts in there.

Yeah there was one guy in the Facebook group who has complained of ear splitting whining coming from the machine and the response was that different resonant frequencies may cause differing sounds coming from the machine?

I don’t know but if mine makes the noise that I heard his making, the dogs complaining will be the least of my problems.

Oh mine gives me a headache if I stand by it in cleaning mode. It really is a high pitched whine. So I just sit across the room at the computer with music on!

Those that have one, how’s the longevity and part quality appear? It obvs too early to definitively answer this, but anything glaring that you can see being an issue down the line? I don’t want to spend $500 on a fancy toy only for it to be obsolete due to a design error.

It’s plastic but it seems like a really solid price of kit. Obviously hard to say how the electronics will last on initial use but I’m over 100 pieces of wax through it now and it’s showing now signs of wear!

One thing. It’s hard to put a record in and out of the 10” and 7” adaptor without inadvertently touching its surface. If you have some of those mime artist gloves that come with nice gear they’re really handy for doing that while not putting finger marks on your record before and, more importantly, after it’s been through the machine.

I got some with my Lintons and was starting to put them on to handle the speakers. But I had a sudden jolt of fear that my wife would walk in and laugh hysterically at me.

Lmao!

It was the ones for the Lintons I just used there! I didn’t use them to put the speakers out but I do use them to change tubes and now to put 7” and 10” into the HumminGuru!
