Definitive Audiophile pressings

That sounds like a good bet. Optimal did The Rolling Stones Half Speeds.

Bottom line is there are gonna be a ton of these made. Enough that I am willing to bet I can pick up a copy at adiscount a few month down the road if they turn out to be excellent. No reason to rush in right now.

Mine are pretty much all MPO except Goats Head Soup, which is GZ. Were yours different?

Are the Goats Head Soup all from GZ? That's the worst pressing of the bunch I have.
I have this one...
...and it looks like its GZ as well. TBH, I enjoy all of the RS Abbey Road Half-Speeds I have including this and Sticky Fingers.

I would have loved to get the One Step but yeah splitting the album up is definitely not ideal. I’m hoping the KG cut comes close to that. I’ve never heard the standard issue MoFi but I have had original copies throughout the years as well as an 80’s reissue that sounded best to me. It’s also impossible to find NM OG Tamla pressings of Marvin Gaye.
I have the MOFI 33 version, it is great. I'm sure the KG will also be great.

But folks - Rob LoVerde at MOFI is no slouch, he is among the finest mastering talents in the world, and has access to arguably a better mastering suite than KPG. There are reasons why MOFI's retain their value and are prized all over the world.

I doubt anyone who has a MOFI needs to jump at the new KG version. But those who don't now have what will surely be an excellent sounding, low price version. Best of both worlds.

My Soul Station was a popping mess so I returned it. Scared to try to get another. But all my Classics since then have been fine (for a low cost version)

Analog guru of truth you are !

Finally got the VMP Floating Points/Pharoah Sanders today. This thing sounds real good. Not sure if all of the pressings were done at Pallas (thought I read it was at different places depending where you ordered from).

Hi Guys, as you may have seen, this release (Floating Points/Pharoah Sanders/LCO is blowing my mind in many different ways. I been listening to the streaming since Friday, and slept on this one far too long. I have a normal vinyl coming this week.

My question is when this release makes it to repress (hopefully soon) would you think the 180G version would be a good upgrade for a few bucks more when available again or is the normal version just fine ? (I know some of you have the VMP as Mike has said. Fremer mentions both versions available in his review when suggesting the vinyl is the way to go over streaming but not the benefit of the 180G variant. I will pass on the Indie Exclusive marble version. Tx and cheers, Jim
