Pre-Order Thread

All the talk about Garbage reminds me to always mention that the Industrial/Shoegaze band Curve came out first.

They often get compared. I love them both though. Garbage also played at my very first rock concert opening up for Smashing Pumpkins.

I went to the same tour, was a great lineup!

I just got an email from Rough Trade about a change in release date for the Garbage LP:

“Just to let you know that the release date for Garbage, Garbage, LPx2 from Order #1540649 has changed from the original release date of Friday 30 October 2015 to Friday 20 August 2021.”

Ah damn. So did it suddenly disappear from your shelf after you got that message, a la Back To The Future?

However, they’re going to charge you the 2015 exchange rate. Sorry.

I'll tell you one thing that's for certain Wes.. There is going to be some god damn Americans that are down right irate! when they go to there shelves to throw on some Garbage to give that perfect 4th of July ambiance while bbqing this weekend to find out it is now nothing but an empty space until the end of August.

They need to make their vinyl more obtainable. I could only find Cheap Silver on their webstore and it was over $40 shipped and by the time the album got to me the jacket was beat AF by the time it got to me but Steak Night… I was able to grab off of Amazon for like $13. I would be fine with something in between.

Shipping to the US ain’t cheap for this one. Comp of rare & unreleased (and two new) tracks from Goat:

Interesting that the writeup calls Requiem their “third and so far final” album before mentioning that the two new tracks were recorded in 2020. Isn’t every band’s most recent album their final one “so far?”

Yeah, if shipping wasn't so insane to the states I would have def. grabbed that version but looks like it sold out in the last couple minutes anyways.

I was reading there's a decent amount of variants so hopefully one or two become much more US friendly.

My copy of cheap silver has the label over the run out groove so whenever I play it I have to make sure I’m ready at the last song to lift the tone arm before the needle hits the label. I emailed them but never got a response.

I think bands that play a lot of gigs like M&TM liked CDs better because they were easier to transport and sell on the road than traveling with boxes full of heavy, temperture sensitive vinyl. One of the best bands I have seen live, if they come to your town, by all means go.
