Pre-Order Thread

I don't know if this was posted. I couldn't keep up quick enough most of the time. Anyway here's a preorder for MBV Loveless Deluxe. Price is much higher though...

Not bad. About $52 usd shipped total. Know anything about the company?

Sorry I don't know anything about them. I found that link off Discogs that people were sharing to help others. I think it's Australian?

I gave it a shot shortly after u posted. Nice website. We will see how it goes.

When these 1st popped up I figured no rush I’ll wait for the US sellers on-line. A couple hrs later they are hard to find and no US release. Grabbed this from Juno. You all know how that went.

Going to have to buy a carbon credit to offset the environmental impact if it comes through this time. Shipping these all the way to AU and then back across the world to USA. Crazy.

Thank you for posting this!! I bought this album 20 years ago, and I just bought it again thanks to you bc I wouldn’t have known about this release.

Ropeadope was such a groundbreaking label with unbelievable merch (particularly apparel) and an amazing roster of artists. I still have my “ReNew Orleans” T-shirt.

I was also lucky to be around to attend the “New Music Seminar” tour in Portland. So good. https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/65920/new-music-seminar-lives-on-with-ropeadope

I know Ropeadope is still around, but it’s not unique anymore. I can’t say it’s been copied, but there are now a bunch of labels that look a lot like it.

does anyone know where i can find 180g version in-stock of Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & the London Symphony Orchestra - Promises?i know the are doing a pre-order for a re-press wish i wouldn't have slept on this.

I made the dude an offer. I was gonna wait for the repress but I’ve got a few things on his wishlist. Might as well save $31 if I can.
Sweet, we are trading straight up my copy of Kelela - Take Me Apart for his copy of the 180g Praises. I purchased the Kelela during a Rough Trade sale and it has sat sealed on my shelf ever since so this worked out great.

Aw dude sorry, I hope I didn’t pull the rug out from under ya regarding the Reddit trade.

Same here, thanks! This was the first jazz album I ever bought at a time when all I listened to was rap. Picked it up blindly at the time because Questlove was involved. I didn't even realize it was on Ropeadope, and I didn't even realize Ropeadope was a record label until they released Terrace Martin's Velvet Portraits a few years ago. I knew them as a clothing company. I think I still have their Dr. J and Jesse Owens t-shirts somewhere, which I just learned they are apparently still selling on their website 15 years later!
