Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Also anyone who doesn’t know, you all should check out the mrhoffame channel. That dude buys like everything and his room looks like a freaking record store.
I think I saw his actual "tour" vid, just crazy. That being said, and I don't really know why, the channels with walls, shelves and just piles of records everywhere turn me off for some reason. 🤷‍♂️

I think his MAGA channel was like just a bunch of regurgitated r/TheDonald & r/RedPill shit just like his Vinyl channel was just ripping off shit he’d picked up from r/Vinyl with some added snappy graphics then sitting back and watch the followers roll in.
I have him blocked on YT but every now and then his stupid face will appear on my timeline and so I block him again and the go outside for a walk.

I can totally feel that. If I had a dedicated room, I’d never want it to look like a record store. That’s part of the attraction In going to a record store.

He doesn't really consistently add content to his channel much in the last year or so if I remember how many times his face pops up with something new ;)

Right?! In a perfect world I would have a listening room that was just the gear and music memorabilia and frames artwork.......all the vinyl in another room ;)

Would you go Fluance over the Dual from fixmydual. Not sure what they charge assuming it it is around same price as the Fluance.
I've never owned a Fluance, but I have owned and consistently used a Dual 1219 for ten years. In that time I also have had multiple Thorens turntables (one 125 II original, one 125 II with a 3009 tonearm, one 160 with Rega arm from Dave at Vinyl Nirvana), a Bogen/Lenco, and now a Clearaudio Concept wood. (Prior to the Dual, I had a Pro-ject Carbon Debut.) At this point, the Concept is my #1 turntable, but the Dual is connected to the same system and I continue to use it almost as much as the Concept. I find it almost impossible to imagine that a $500 current turntable could come anywhere near the Dual's performance. If purchasing a turntable from fixmydual.com would cost more than the Fluance, what about the possibility of sending in your 1229 for an overhaul? It may not get you too far ahead, but it could lend to your enjoying what you've got for a while.

Who wants to start a N&G channel? 🤪
See, My initial reaction to most YouTube self proclaimed “experts” is a hard pass. I also don’t wanna listen to a Podcast or checkout a Tumbler either. I don’t think most people (myself included) are nearly as insightful and interesting as they think they are. I appreciate the gateway that old media presents in filtering out who is worthy of my time. Though, I am always open to recommendations but only if the person making the the recommendation isn’t also the person creating the content.

Anybody come across this yet? Seems like an intriguing project and its been cosigned by Robin Pecknold and others. It looks like they have a stellar lineup of performers utilizing their service as well. Beautiful, elegant design backed by a very interesting concept. I'm thinking I'll take a shot on them for the heck of it.
