And I don't think Redacted would let me in since I only share maybe 5% of my music folder. I just use soulseek, which only fails me a little

I just presumed because the screen caps you post look a lot like the collages from What.CD.

Does SoulSeek come with the risk of viruses? What.CD was always 1000 percent clean.

Thoughts on this year's DJ Yoda?

This is the content I come here for ;). This shit's solid. Not sure how long it'll stay in my rotation but it's a nice change of pace for when I'm craving some turntable based tunes. Didn't realize he was still putting out music.

I will admit that I find it a lot harder to follow the underground these days. In large part because I was so dependent on the forums of What.CD to keep me in the loop post college.

This is the quintessential Gen Z album of the year so far if you're interested. Really all over the place genre wise, but there's a lot of dubstep n pop

This actually reminds me a bit of earlier in the decade. Sort of like playing Treats era Sleigh Bells, Clams Casino, oOoOO, Salem and Crystal Castles at the same time. I kind of think that's a good thing, but it's certainly a lot lol.

Finally getting around to the new Foals... and I'm really digging it.

The autotune makes me want to break things. And not in a good way. Honestly might be the most obnoxious song I've heard all year.

Lol, it is a bit grating for sure, probably by design. To be honest I couldn’t make it through the record in one sitting, but I do like this kind of stuff that’s challenging the norms of an already bizarre popscape.

I think these vocals are a peek into the frontier beyond early Sophie (Lemonade and Bipp era) and PC Music (QT in particular) and maybe it’s a little to far to be listenable, but to me it’s still “fun” as @sorcerer says.

Hey man, I've spent the past two days binging Marilyn Manson because the political landscape (and impending realities of climate change) has me channeling my high school goth. I'm in no place to judge anyone for their musical tastes.

I just happen to be very, very picky with autotune. And that shit ain't it.

Yours too! I'm checking out that Drahla album now.

For some reason I can't get into any of the colemine stuff, it's just too retro for me. I need some kind of modern twist to make me no long for actual records from that era, even if the songs are pretty good.

My wallet wishes I wasn't into the Colemine stuff... I'm a sucker for that sound. Hahaha

Thanks to the people who recommended The Comet Is Coming.

Heads up to those same people-- Kate Tempest (who has a cameo on Blood of the Past) is worth checking out. Her album Let Them Eat Choas from a couple year back is one of the weirdest, headiest "hip-hop" albums of the decade. Her lyrics are always on point, she tells vivid stories and the production on the album is super unique.

Her new album is on NPR's First Listen:

This was my first exposure to her, outside of unknowingly hearing her in that CIC track. This is super good. Going down the Let Them Eat Chaos rabbit hole now. How is she not better known?!

Her novel is worth a read too.
