BN80 sounds amazing too but they can charge the lower price because it is pressed at Optimal, which isn’t as stringent in the QC area, the covers are just cheap stock, cheap inner sleeves, and the pressing is not limited in quantity.

But yeah the Anthology would be a reasonable price had the QA/QC been there. Definitely not worth the price now with all the packaging fuck ups.

With them replacing most if not all of the issues though (new jacket for Dexter and new record for Shorter), it's more acceptable to me. It's still very frustrating and they whiffed on all the other things they promised. But the sound quality is truly on par with MM and AP.

yep, they have to being getting these as Blue Note and the plant eating the cost (or part of it) on Dexter and Shorter respectively

It would be nice if they just let us keep it but I can see how that would lead to a lot of flipping too. Probably depends how widespread it is. Is it unreasonable to ask 100+ people to mail back a record? I really have no idea. It’s kind of a hassle for some.
 
Hi friends. I'd just like to be first to congratulate you all on your recent acquisition of duplicate copies of various VMP Anthology albums for myriad reasons. I'm very happy that VMP appear to be trying to make this right. Now... For those of you with extra copies of the first four albums, or even those of you who got sent duplicates of the same albums within the span of a week because whoops shipping and numbers are hard... I'd just like to state that I would be more than willing to pay the shipping for you to unload said albums on me, myself, and I... up here all lonesome in Canada with currently no anthology albums to keep me warm.

P.S. Seriously, send me your tired Bluenotes, your poor CD albums, your huddled masses of mislabeled vinyl yearning to breathe free...
