The guy asked $10 for it so I figured it was probably a reissue or something, I wasn't too topical on the history of the album but its been on my shortlist.

Got home and put everything in on Discogs and turns out its a first issue, original copy with the Plastylite ear and deep groove, worth a few hundred. Put it through the SpinClean and its in really nice shape. While it has some noticeable hairline marks, I heard absolutely no surface noise or defects - it sounded superb. Probably my best crate digging find ever, and my first original Blue Note record. Thanks for indulging, figure this is the only crowd that could appreciate something like this haha

More suggestions for the ECM sale. I’ll second the Mette album, those Brahem albums, Conference of the Birds. Terje Rypdal is good. Here be Dragons is another. Return to Forever, Corea/Burton So many albums! I’ve been concentrating on Filling out my ECM essentials recently. Target has them but their stock has run low.

Thank you for this. I didn't really listen to much other than the end where he talks about Blue Note, HOWEVER, it lead me to an interview by that guy with Tim Berne, where I watched every second of that. As a certified Berne nut, it was a real find and I am very appreciative. If anyone here is into Berne, while Phil Freeman is one of the most annoying critics out there, his Burning Ambulance podcast just dropped an interview with Berne today. Those early BNs play extremely well and it’s why I’m never afraid to buy ones for cheap even if they are marked as VG or look like they have hairline scratches. As long as they aren’t feelable I’ll give them a shot. They almost always play above grade—maybe partially due to the vinyl formula or maybe because a lot of them were cut hot and surface noise isn’t as noticeable. Great find though!
 
Does any one else own any records from this Japanese reissue series? I have been blown away by how good this particular album sounds, might be one of my best sounding records tbh. Donald Byrd in particular sounds like he’s screaming in my living room.image.jpg
 
I read somewhere a while ago that these apparently used US Masters and sounded great ! SMJ cat Numbers pressed by Victor . Maybe something on the label ?? Sorry that's all I've got .

Sounds of the Universe and Phonica are selling a limited pressing (100 copies) from a new mysterious group called 'Sauce and Dogs' 'who channel post-punk attitude with fierce jazz-not-jazz vibrations'. Its a pretty eclectic mix but sounds interesting from the clips, plenty of energy for sure. Each sleeve is being hand made with a different design. The descriptions as to who this group are is purposely vague, but they are connected with 'one of the the UK's premier new jazz labels....'. This could be worth picking up.

Anyone pick up Dave Brubeck's "Lullabies" recently? I'm enjoying it very much, I love how you can almost feel the emotion coming off of his fingers in the playing, especially at 91 years old.
