Yes, I know I said earlier that vaporwave is a term that I despise (I still do), but I took a chance on this 猫 シ Corp. LP. It was in the Target sale and I was going to link it to people in the Online Deals thread, but it sold out within the hour of me buying it. Thought this was too good to be true for Target to be housing vaporwave in their vinyl stock, but I guess not!
Thank you to @dropsonde for recommending this Inoyamaland reissue that I've never heard of! This is fantastic and sounds immaculate. Could easily be the BGM to a Japanese videogame from the 90s...gorgeous stuff.
Saw the Yoshimura reissue restocked at one of my locals and didn't hesitate to nab it. Been wanting this one for a while.
Big ups to @blissfullychaotic for selecting the most recently announced N&G RotM. This one should be getting some more time on the table soon; the shoegaze/metal/post-rock hybrid presented here pairs perfect for the autumn, I suspect. As in line with most metal and metal related albums, the artwork is dope!

We all know this line of reissues and their praise is unanimous (at least for the BNTP series) here. It's great to see Blue Note is starting to use polylined inners for some of the BN80s now, as the Dexter Gordon BN80 above came packaged with one. Keeping in line with the personal rule to not give in to dishing out $20+ per TP, with the exception of The Cooker, which was nabbed in an Amazon lightning deal (~$21) posted in the Online Vinyl Deals thread.

Joshua Redman Quartet - Come What May
Good to see the Acoustic Sounds series being made available in multiple outlets outside their own webstore. Seeing the Getz/Gilberto reissue at Target and nabbing it for $14 after discount, how could I not? It holds up comparably to the BNTP series...exceptional attention to detail from the packaging to sound quality. Definitely a winner!
Tried out the International Anthem selection on a whim based on the album artwork and description on the OBI, only $19. A pleasant listen, but may end up being offloaded in due time. I kinda wanted more out of it.
Joshua Redman is a cheapie for under $11, and it is a pleasant nighttime listen! I think this'll be a keeper.

The new Nicolas Jaar project is quite abrasive...I didn't like it much at all at first. Kept at it and it grew on me over time. Even better, the 3xLP vinyl edition is explosive. Didn't know an electronic record could sound so detailed and impactful on vinyl. Would go over well in a club.
Followed the Hip Hop thread here and saw many praising ...As God Intended so gave it a run. Great stuff! Thinking there'll be a spot for this on my year-end list, but it's already tight enough as it is. Great to see that Target had, and currently has, the album in stock on the cheap with the cancelation trick. Seems to be sold out through several other outlets.
Pleased with the horrorcore sequel to There Existed an Addiction to Blood. Earth-shaking bass on this pressing...a very striking mastering decision.
A very solid return to form for Deftones with their newest.
HMLTD - West of Eden

REZN - Chaotic Divine
Sightless Pit - Grave of a Dog
Glam rock meets synthpop meets spaghetti western with the full length debut of HMLTD. It's kind of like a musical Long Island ice tea in a way...a bunch of elements that, when reading the ingredients combined on paper, should sound vile. But through some alchemical sorcery, it leaves a positive impression.
First time hearing about Jess Williamson this year and she is highly underrated.
Might have FOMO'd myself into this psych metal/doom metal pick highlighted by @SanSeattle (thank you!) around the time of Bandcamp Friday last month, but it is stellar.
Sightless Pit is a trio of Dylan Walker (Full of Hell), Lee Buford (The Body) and Kristin Hayter (Lingua Ignota). An abrasive, caustic, cacophonous, and jarring project put forth here. I wish there was more input from Kristin, though.

Bark Psychosis - Hex
Beach House - Teen Dream
Broadcast - Tender Buttons
Getting my djent on with the reissue of Weightless. I enjoyed this one a lot back in the college days.
FINALLY have one of my top 50 in Hex, shouldn't have put it off so long. One of the precursors, if not outright originator, of post rock with a bevy of ambient sections throughout. Lovely.
Teen Dream was an aimless buy, although not a regretful one. Sounds great, for sure.
As always, @TenderLovingKiller® hitting the nail on the head for recs. Aside from the introductory track, Tender Buttons clicked immediately. I do sense the similarities to Stereolab even if Broadcast seems to be a more brooding excursion. Very lush and with a variety of sounds explored, with a seemingly central dream pop focus. Thanks again, friend.

Cliff Martinez - Drive (Original Soundtrack)
Cluster - Zuckerzeit
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Yanqui U.X.O.
Loving this excursion by Chelsea into doom metal. Some repetitiveness here, but that's kind of the point, isn't it?
Drive still holds up, nearly a decade later.
Once again, dropsonde comin' through with a nice recommendation. A neat (and very accessible!) krautrock/avantgarde nugget in Zuckerzeit.
Obtained this GYBE record to complete the early discography on vinyl. Might be apropos more than ever to have their works in rotation in the current landscape.

Got my first Christmas LP from Target, and it thankfully sounds nice. The lenticular cover is a bit jarring, unfortunately. Came in that oversized box I posted earlier in this thread, first time I've had bizarre, haphazard packaging happen to me.

Stereolab - Sound-Dust
Stereolab - Margerine Eclipse
I can honestly say that even with only ~4 months of working through their discography, Stereolab has become one of my all-timers. I don't dislike a single album they've made across these 3xLP reissues (though I don't view Emperor Tomato Ketchup as highly as others do).
I'm now going to partake in a "No Buy November" which may likely extend to the end of the year. Not hurting for money or anything, but I definitely would like to achieve some non-vinyl goals in the next year. I'm starting to realize the concept of having too much fluff, which will hopefully propel me to end up condensing the library at some point in 2021. Ultimately, a period of reflection is pertinent at this time.
Still have some preorders paid for in advance scheduled to arrive in November and December, so expect to see me here again at the beginning of December...just not an oversized post.

We all know this line of reissues and their praise is unanimous (at least for the BNTP series) here. It's great to see Blue Note is starting to use polylined inners for some of the BN80s now, as the Dexter Gordon BN80 above came packaged with one. Keeping in line with the personal rule to not give in to dishing out $20+ per TP, with the exception of The Cooker, which was nabbed in an Amazon lightning deal (~$21) posted in the Online Vinyl Deals thread.

Good to see the Acoustic Sounds series being made available in multiple outlets outside their own webstore. Seeing the Getz/Gilberto reissue at Target and nabbing it for $14 after discount, how could I not? It holds up comparably to the BNTP series...exceptional attention to detail from the packaging to sound quality. Definitely a winner!
Tried out the International Anthem selection on a whim based on the album artwork and description on the OBI, only $19. A pleasant listen, but may end up being offloaded in due time. I kinda wanted more out of it.
Joshua Redman is a cheapie for under $11, and it is a pleasant nighttime listen! I think this'll be a keeper.

The new Nicolas Jaar project is quite abrasive...I didn't like it much at all at first. Kept at it and it grew on me over time. Even better, the 3xLP vinyl edition is explosive. Didn't know an electronic record could sound so detailed and impactful on vinyl. Would go over well in a club.
Followed the Hip Hop thread here and saw many praising ...As God Intended so gave it a run. Great stuff! Thinking there'll be a spot for this on my year-end list, but it's already tight enough as it is. Great to see that Target had, and currently has, the album in stock on the cheap with the cancelation trick. Seems to be sold out through several other outlets.
Pleased with the sequel to the horrorcore sequel to There Existed an Addiction to Blood. Earth-shaking bass on this pressing...a very striking mastering decision.
A very solid return to form for Deftones with their newest.

Glam rock meets synthpop meet spaghetti western with the full length debut of HMLTD. It's kind of like a musical Long Island ice tea in a way...a bunch of elements that, when reading the ingredients combined on paper, should sound vile. But through some alchemical sorcery, it leaves a positive impression.
First time hearing about Jess Williamson this year and she is highly underrated.
Might have FOMO'd myself into this psych metal/doom metal pick highlighted by @SanSeattle (thank you!) around the time of Bandcamp Friday last month, but it is stellar.
Sightless Pit is a trio of Dylan Walker (Full of Hell), Lee Buford (The Body) and Kristin Hayter (Lingua Ignota). An abrasive, caustic, cacophonous, and jarring project put forth here. I wish there was more input from Kristin, though.

Teen Dream was an aimless buy, although not a regretful one. Sounds great, for sure.
As always, @TenderLovingKiller® hitting the nail on the head for recs. Aside from the introductory track, Tender Buttons clicked immediately. I do sense the similarities to Stereolab even if Broadcast seems to be a more brooding excursion. Very lush and with a variety of sounds explored, with a seemingly central dream pop focus. Loving this excursion by Chelsea into doom metal. Some repetitiveness here, but that's kind of the point, isn't it?
Drive still holds up, nearly a decade later.
Once again, dropsonde comin' through with a nice recommendation. A neat (and very accessible!) krautrock/avantgarde nugget in Zuckerzeit.
Obtained this GYBE record to complete the early discography on vinyl. Might be apropos more than ever to have their works in rotation in the current landscape.

I can honestly say that even with only ~4 months of working through their discography, Stereolab has become one of my all-timers. I don't dislike a single album they've made across these 3xLP reissues (though I don't view Emperor Tomato Ketchup as highly as others do).
I'm now going to partake in a "No Buy November" which may likely extend to the end of the year. Not hurting for money or anything, but I definitely would like to achieve some non-vinyl goals in the next year. I'm starting to realize the concept of having too much fluff, which will hopefully propel me to end up condensing the library at some point in 2021. Ultimately, a period of reflection is pertinent at this time.
Still have some preorders paid for in advance scheduled to arrive in November and December, so expect to see me here again at the beginning of December...just not an oversized post.

Yes, I know I said earlier that vaporwave is a term that I despise (I still do), but I took a chance on this 猫 シ Corp. LP. It was in the Target sale and I was going to link it to people in the Online Deals thread, but it sold out within the hour of me buying it. Thought this was too good to be true for Target to be housing vaporwave in their vinyl stock, but I guess not!
Thank you to @dropsonde for recommending this Inoyamaland reissue that I've never heard of! This is fantastic and sounds immaculate. Could easily be the BGM to a Japanese videogame from the 90s...gorgeous stuff.
Saw the Yoshimura reissue restocked at one of my locals and didn't hesitate to nab it. Been wanting this one for a while.
Big ups to @blissfullychaotic for selecting the most recently announced N&G RotM. This one should be getting some more time on the table soon; the shoegaze/metal/post-rock hybrid presented here pairs perfect for the autumn, I suspect. As in line with most metal and metal related albums, the artwork is dope!

Amazing! You’ve got a little bit of everything and enough to savor until 2021 for sure. Give Resavoir a few more listens — it made my favorite 10 of the year last year. Ohms completely blew my mind, so good. And what an amazing pressing. Good to see the Acoustic Sounds series being made available in multiple outlets outside their own webstore. Seeing the Getz/Gilberto reissue at Target and nabbing it for $14 after discount, how could I not? It holds up comparably to the BNTP series...exceptional attention to detail from the packaging to sound quality. Definitely a winner!
Tried out the International Anthem selection on a whim based on the album artwork and description on the OBI, only $19. A pleasant listen, but may end up being offloaded in due time. I kinda wanted more out of it.
Joshua Redman is a cheapie for under $11, and it is a pleasant nighttime listen! I think this'll be a keeper.

The new Nicolas Jaar project is quite abrasive...I didn't like it much at all at first. Kept at it and it grew on me over time. Even better, the 3xLP vinyl edition is explosive. Didn't know an electronic record could sound so detailed and impactful on vinyl. Would go over well in a club.
Followed the Hip Hop thread here and saw many praising ...As God Intended so gave it a run. Great stuff! Thinking there'll be a spot for this on my year-end list, but it's already tight enough as it is. Great to see that Target had, and currently has, the album in stock on the cheap with the cancelation trick. Seems to be sold out through several other outlets.
Pleased with the horrorcore sequel to There Existed an Addiction to Blood. Earth-shaking bass on this pressing...a very striking mastering decision.
A very solid return to form for Deftones with their newest.

Glam rock meets synthpop meets spaghetti western with the full length debut of HMLTD. It's kind of like a musical Long Island ice tea in a way...a bunch of elements that, when reading the ingredients combined on paper, should sound vile. But through some alchemical sorcery, it leaves a positive impression.
First time hearing about Jess Williamson this year and she is highly underrated.
Might have FOMO'd myself into this psych metal/doom metal pick highlighted by @SanSeattle (thank you!) around the time of Bandcamp Friday last month, but it is stellar.
Sightless Pit is a trio of Dylan Walker (Full of Hell), Lee Buford (The Body) and Kristin Hayter (Lingua Ignota). An abrasive, caustic, cacophonous, and jarring project put forth here. I wish there was more input from Kristin, though.

Getting my djent on with the reissue of Weightless. I enjoyed this one a lot back in the college days.
FINALLY have one of my top 50 in Hex, shouldn't have put it off so long. One of the precursors, if not outright originator, of post rock with a bevy of ambient sections throughout. Lovely.
Teen Dream was an aimless buy, although not a regretful one. Sounds great, for sure.
As always, @TenderLovingKiller® hitting the nail on the head for recs. Aside from the introductory track, Tender Buttons clicked immediately. I do sense the similarities to Stereolab even if Broadcast seems to be a more brooding excursion. Very lush and with a variety of sounds explored, with a seemingly central dream pop focus. Thanks again, friend.

Loving this excursion by Chelsea into doom metal. Some repetitiveness here, but that's kind of the point, isn't it?
Drive still holds up, nearly a decade later.
Once again, dropsonde comin' through with a nice recommendation. A neat (and very accessible!) krautrock/avantgarde nugget in Zuckerzeit.
Obtained this GYBE record to complete the early discography on vinyl. Might be apropos more than ever to have their works in rotation in the current landscape.

I can honestly say that even with only ~4 months of working through their discography, Stereolab has become one of my all-timers. I don't dislike a single album they've made across these 3xLP reissues (though I don't view Emperor Tomato Ketchup as highly as others do).
I'm now going to partake in a "No Buy November" which may likely extend to the end of the year. Not hurting for money or anything, but I definitely would like to achieve some non-vinyl goals in the next year. I'm starting to realize the concept of having too much fluff, which will hopefully propel me to end up condensing the library at some point in 2021. Ultimately, a period of reflection is pertinent at this time.
Still have some preorders paid for in advance scheduled to arrive in November and December, so expect to see me here again at the beginning of December...just not an oversized post.
Amazing!! So much to say about all the grabs but that Hex is perfect for this time of the year. Love that pressing too.

No I found that at one of my locals. Store owner said that one was a restock that has arrived two days prior. It is on standard black (which I prefer for ambient).
Yes, Hex should be in rotation for a few months at least. I gave both sides A and C a whirl and both sides sounded immaculate. Thanks for the compliments!
