Hey...can you guys help me out?

I've never listened to Beach House before but all the postings about the TTL "Bloom" variant gave me serious FOMO. So I spun mine today. Here's my question: Do all their records sound like everything is happening in slow-motion?

Its very Avant-Garde and I understand the critical appeal of such an unusual approach, but I'm not sure I could handle an entire discography of songs that sound like they are happening underwater and in slow motion. Am I missing something here?

They are an aquatic band of 45 manatees

Maybe if I bought and listened to Bloom on 33, I'd finally understand the Beach House appeal. Regular speed has never fully connected for me.
Would recommend Bee Chouse. It's a post punk revival band centered on recreating bee noises with their ironic guitars and Joe Casey of Protomartyr on vocals.

I just listened to the Bloom record and was surprised to find out it was 45rpm. Very cool!

I want to be so mad at you right now, but I can't. Legit went to seek this out because I like all these words you say. Now I'm just disappointed this isn't a thing (unless it is). But I want it.

Just wanted to share a quick link to our latest vinyl.

Soul Step Records announces SSR-046, a partnership with Columbus, OH based Parker Louis. We are so excited to bring to vinyl a record that we are so personally crazy about!

Parker Louis has been very active on the road, recently opening for O.A.R., Caamp, and soon to be seen on festival stages across the Midwest.

Parker Louis brings his buttery smooth vocals paired with bluesy guitar grooves straight to your turntable. It’s a great record to mellow out to. It’s a great record to hold onto your sweet thing to.

Use me as an anger button for 7" that are $16

Suicide Squeeze has your back:

$6 7" of the Week:
Ty Segall Sentimental Goblin
Get Ty Segall 'Sentimental Goblin' for $6

It’s tough to keep up with garage rock’s wunderkind Ty Segall. Between his steady release schedule of LPs, raucous side projects like Fuzz and GØGGS, and collaborations with fellow songwriters Mikal Cronin and Tim Presley, it’s as if a season can’t pass without Segall dropping a new record. And that’s not even taking his cassettes, splits, and EPs into consideration. Fortunately, Segall’s bottomless well of creativity, production savvy, and boundless fascination with the various niches of the rock world makes every new release an occasion to celebrate. Suicide Squeeze Records is proud to offer the latest entry in Ty’s impressive canon with the Sentimental Goblin 7”. Side A features “Pan”, a fuzz-soaked proto-metal jam that links Beatles’ pioneering guitar dirge “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” to later lurch classics by Sir Lord Baltimore and Pentagram. In true Segall fashion, he switches gears on side B and conjures the erudite pop appeal of T. Rex and Bowie with the lush glam rocker “Black Magick”.

Suicide Squeeze Records is excited to offer Ty Segall Sentimental Goblin on limited edition purple and pink vinyl for just $6. Sale runs from now until Friday 6/7 at 12a PST or while supplies last.

*Please note that orders will begin shipping on 6/7.

Right! The first time it was posted on here it was via the Okay Player web store and it was over $22 shipped from Mr Bongo Direct it was about the same after that $16 feels like a deal. Plus being as it’s an Amazon preorder I hope the price might drop a bit more before it’s shipped out. I have been on a bit of a 7” kick recently and they vary so wildly on the secondary market I think my cut off for a new 7” is < $20.

Was peeking around and saw that Bull Moose, who is usually conservatively priced, has it for 20, so holy shite they (the label?) are really taking advantage of people. https://www.bullmoose.com/p/30509372/a-tribe-called-quest-scenario-7

He can’t lose! The sad fact is I saw this “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” Fox knockoff TV show before I ever saw the original and being from IL that’s almost sacrilege. I honestly think they did a TV version of Ferris Bueller too that featured a young Jennifer Aniston but I never saw that either.
