I think it's so the etchings are visible, which makes me think clear may not have been the best variant choice. Hard to see on any color, but when you can see the opposite grooves at the same time, probably worse.

Yeah, clear is actually a strange choice for a vinyl with an etching. Should have just been white.

If that’s the case, I don’t think they’ve fully examined that business model. Local exchange rates, taxes and their new fee structure have pretty much made it go from from really attractive option to “mmm...nup”.
The international sub is more expensive than the US sub. Always has been to offset shipping costs. Even when they charged $5 per record before the “free” shipping came in.
I used to renew every 3 months but with the recent price gouge I subbed for 1 year at the special price.
With their increase in store prices, on average it’s pretty much on par of buying a new release vinyl here. Once my renewal is next August and the “we’ll bend you over and then take you to brown town” prices kick in it won’t be cost effective to buy from them anymore.
But I digress...
Yeah. Shipping costs suck.

Ah, that's true, I guess the extra subscription cost is only really offset if you are buying A LOT of extra stuff every month (or getting it for free). Although I suppose the same is true for anywhere else with expensive shipping when you buy a bunch at once!
They priced me out even at our lower rate. When I'm up for renewal next month I'll strongly consider it if they extend the discount, but only for 3 months.
