Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

So I canceled. Was debating doing that anyways, this made the decision much easier.

I’m kinda bummed about it to be honest. I’ve had a lot of issues with VMP, but have also got a lot of great records from them. It’s a shame they just couldn’t get their shit together. And hiking prices up this much this suddenly is pretty insane.

I'm honestly kinda offended by this price jump

This is a HUGE increase, 1.5X the price for 3 months alone. I can't afford that and it honestly makes these ROTMs seem even less likely for me. Unless they get something I genuinely feel I need right away like die lit or something im done

Im on a grandfathered 25/month for three month plan. This is a huge jump. Keeping the 23 addon was also pretty easy but now the new cost of one main subscription is almost the price of what i was paying for two. After over 5 years it seems this is the end of the trail. Hopefully classics is Al so I can swap for Spiritualized and call it a day.

I'm still on a year sub until the May of 2021, so I guess I'll just get all Classics then cancel. I honestly don't think they've done a single release that's worth $33, MAYBE one or two, but none that I spin very often. And anything more than that year sub is a sick joke.

Seems like they want to crash and burn really badly or something? I don't know, but looks like this is the final nail in the VMP coffin.

Uh, just walking into this mess and what the fuck? Ridiculous prices lmao.

I just cancelled my Hip-Hop add-on and now MF Doom's MM.. FOOD is showing up with "scheduled cancellation" despite it being the month just gone and having been charged for??

Reading the email again it's just the extra tracks that are getting expensive. I think those of us grandfathered in on the old prices are safe.

Truth be told...if you leave VMP and maybe once a quarter (for arguments sake) they put out an album you HAVE to have, you could buy it on the aftermarket and still be saving hundreds a year.

Goddamn, I could understand if add-on prices went up to something like $25 but $33?! Yeah, most months are just gonna be one track from here on out.

I’m on a yearly sub that renewed in June so I’ll be around for a little while longer at least. But if it’s not gonna be grandfathered in when renewal comes up next year, then I’m probably done for good.

Yeah, I have to be honest. I'm out with those prices. My wife got laid off in April and I've already cut back on my vinyl spending. I went from 3 tracks to 2 and very rarely get an exclusive. I honestly do not re-listen to any of the Essentials I've gotten this year and switched out Mayer for Blossom Dearie to get as a gift for my niece. I'll re-listen to classics over and over but I'm not staying in Classics only for $43 a month. It's not worth that considering a lot of these releases are available on Discogs. I can get Blue Note Tone Poets from $15 less than the sub price.

If they come to their senses and switch back to more reasonable pricing, I'll think about re-subbing but this just makes no sense in a global pandemic when unemployment is rampant and people can't make their rent.

Well that's a catastrophic business plan from VMP! I mean, it's a great job that their CS, order management, warehouse picking and QC is top-notch. Otherwise they'd really be up shit-creek.

Glad I cancelled again that's for sure.
