Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

Rick Ross’ Teflon Don is sooooooo much better than The Game’s Jesus Piece! At least Teflon Don has a few classic tracks on there (B.M.F. & Aston Martin Music) and also has some other great tracks in general (Super High, Free Mason & Maybach Music III). I’ve also realised how great the song MC Hammer is too! Like it’s such a mean, bully, tough, metal-steel banger! 🔫💰💎

LOLOL ok this is ironic to me because at the beginning of the month when we were talking about how it was going to be Rick Ross, you did nothing but trash the album to hell, call Rick Ross fat and gross, and said it had NO good songs on it at all. I explained to you what songs I thought were good.....and reading ur reaction now.... I'm glad you finally warmed up to it.

That being said, maybe you should go back to the games album because that second paragraph is just way off. The songs with J Cole and Kendrick are both amazing and gritty songs full of imagery....the song with Pusha T is just bars of fire. The song with Kanye and Common is also dope because it explains the theme of the album. Ali Bomaye!!! Seriously!?!?!?! Hallelujah is a hilariously ironic song about church and Freedom is an old school Game song. You're entitled to your opinion, but it changes so much that you probably should give it one more go. It's a great concept album and his personal favorite from his discography for a reason

Edit: his bars are Heavens Arms are just disgustingggg. I had to go back cuz I hyped it up and yea. It still slaps

Yes 🔥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

That’s exactly what VMP probably thought to themselves and were like “Ain’t no point in pressing this mediocre-ish album”! 😂

The Game’s Jesus Piece just doesn’t have those top tier kinda tracks....it hasn’t even aged well on top! And the most disappointing part is that it has a great star-studded featured tracklisting but the guest features are average as f***. Like Kanye West knows how to use an artist to their strength on a track when he puts them in a feature, but The Game.....nope! 🙅‍♂️
Nathan what??? You hated Ross and Teflon Don last month 😂😂😂😂 flip flop now? Jesus piece is incredible, full of bangers, the concept works, the features are sick, if I had to pick one criticism of the album its that game sometimes tries to sound like the featured artist but who da fuq doesnt want to spin Ali Bomaye on full blast? And Lady Dangelo sample was sick, Dr Dre sent game an iMessage saying the lady sample was "fucking crazy, great job" at the time too. Cmon man

I’M SO EXCITED TO GET THE NEXT CLUE FOR THE June RAP & HIP-HOP ROTM!!!! 👀💎💎🙉🙈🙋‍♂️🙇‍♂️🕺💃📣🙏🎁👀

I know for April’s R&HH ROTM, that when the clue was “first time on vinyl, 2010’s”, I got really disappointed that it was Rick Ross. But I’ve got a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY good feeling this time about this R&HH ROTM! Really hoping we get Playboi Carti’s Die Lit or Megan Thee Stallion’s Fever. But there are also so many other great albums that haven’t been released on vinyl yet from the 2010’s!! 😇

With the return of one-month subs I hope that they do finally nail this with something good (neither of those mentioned though please 😂 ). I've been unimpressed (at worst) to meh (at best) for quite awhile with their picks. Can't complain too much though as I've been able to buy a bunch of other stuff I've wanted to add to the collection recently because of it 🤷‍♂️

Really really hope it’s Megan but trying not to get too excited since I think it’s a long shot with her current level of fame. If it was that hard to nail down last year, this year it would be close to impossible (unless they got it lovked awhile ago and just took some time to order and roll out)
Would also be really excited for ‘Die Lit’ or ‘The Pinkprint’.

That VMP 90s Hip Hop list is just too much

Yeah, I get they don’t want to support Nas in any way but don’t even make a 90s Hip-Hop list if youre not going to include Illmatic. And that’s just the most obvious problem.

This list hurts the credibility of their “magazine”. Hot takes and different opinions are cool but this comes off as way more self promotional than a legitimate list.

Definitely. The inclusion of Camp Lo, Da Brat, UGK and Lil Kim rubbishes the whole list. Their 10 best albums of all time list is to include Tennis, Lapsley, Torres and the John Cale mix of the Stooges debut.

'The Pinkprint' would be amazing, it's such a good album and it's unbelievable that it never was released on vinyl. Is there a certain reason for that? 'Pink Friday Roman Reloaded' and also 'Queen' have been released on vinyl.

Yeah, I have all of her other albums on Vinyl but Pinkprint is by far my favorite. I have no idea why it was never released. There was a pre-order bundle that included it but it never materialized.
