Everything Video Games!

Yeah I'm really enjoying Animal Crossing too. Its simplicity it why I like it. It feels so quaint. Been playing it as a 2 player too, and the one thing that bugs me is the lack of what you can do when you're not the leader (which is expected I guess). It's easy enough to keep switching back and forth, but I wish you could still actually put things in your pocket and talk to people. Just a minor quibble though. Other than that, we've started it up to see what's going on on the island and ended up playing for over an hour each time - and it never feels like it's been that long. Currently we're probably barely into it compared to everyone else, and we're kinda struggling to find bigger things to do (getting an axe? how? making a work bench? not there yet). So far, lots of fishing (and failing at it more than succeeding) and catching bugs. Also my girlfriend has got stung by wasps twice.

You should get the axe recipe from Timmy or Tommy at Nooks. I think they outright sell it too. Today I got the the vaulting pole and shovel from Blathers.

I haven’t seen it as an option yet. I wonder if there’s more I need to do before it shows up.
 
Anyone have a clue where one can buy a new Switch at a reasonable, retailish price? It seems everyone is hiking them up to 4-500 bucks suddenly and I really want to get the lady her own. We are both enjoying more and more time with it and honestly just want to make our own Animal Crossing islands and visit each others'. But the standard $300 consoles are either sold out or going for twice that everywhere I've checked. :(

I was looking for the same reason and haven't been able to find one. I did find this stock check site that I'm keeping an eye on for any that become available. Hope you're able to find one.

Ok I’ve progressed a lot since last night in Animal Crossing. No, still haven’t paid off my bill but I’m close.

We did notice though that my gf, who was added to the game after I set it up, never gets asked by Tom to show him her fish or bugs. Can’t figure out why that is. Works for me, not her.

Unfortunately it seems like only the first player (the one who named the island, etc) gets to do all of those interactions. We're currently deciding where to build our next three villager houses and it's something that only my wife gets to do. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I dont think its anything super special, but I was also hooked into it for most of the night. I really like that it takes place in real time, and you have to wait for the next actually day to arrive to continue on, which should encourage daily play (especially with our current work schedules) As someone who was kind of skeptical and bought it mostly off of hype, I'm happy with my purchase after 1 night of the game.

Just wait until you’ve got a whole little town full of little shops and a dozen residents with different likes and dislikes and personalities, who sometimes pack up and move to a friend’s island instead, but occasionally send you letters on your birthday.

also special holidays, events, fishing tournaments, etc etc.

These games have a long tail, so to speak.

I second this one, played it near the end of last year. Other than a few minor technical issues the game is really great!
