What is Wax Buyers Club?

Since February 2015, the WAX BUYERS CLUB is the only record club in France to offer its subscribers to receive a vinyl record pressed exclusively for them. In a digital universe where the musical offer is as abundant as it is of variable quality, at the WAX BUYERS CLUB, we are attached to the idea of beautiful objects, listening experience and immersion in the universe of an artist.

They have released exclusives variants of Gossip's first album, Herbaliser's Something Wicked This Way Comes, Dj Vadim's DubCatcher Vol.2 & 3, Ofege's self-titled album, Harold Alexander's Sunshine Man or Funkadelic's Finest compilation, among many others.

May AoTM is Young Sinclairs - Out of The Box

The Young Sinclairs is one of the hidden treasures of the US independent scene. Out of the Box is their sixth album since 2007, and has a French distribution thanks to the hyper active Requiem for a Twister label. Find this nugget early release and exclusive edition for this month of May 2019. High quality pressing on vinyl 180g Stripe color "Bone and Red"!

Hi there,
I have subscribed to WaxBuyersClub from the early begging in February 2015.
The variety of music genre, the quality and the exclusivity of each record is just incredible. I have discovered so many awesome artists with WBC....! :)
What I particularly appreciate : only independent labels, exclusive edition as often as possible, colored vinyl only, a cool price including shipment fees. Last, but not least : the quality of the communication with WBC : they are very reactive on social networks and really care of their customers...(y)

Wax Buyers just teased their next ROTM, 99% this is Henri Texier’s Varech. And this is a must have.

Wow that's gorgeous and one of my fav crate digger albums - might have to pick this up. Is it even possible to sign up as an international? I would like to also pick up a couple of their older releases.. @Skalap @ChristoBee could you check and let me know if that's an option with these guys?

There an international option, but it's a 3 or 12 months option only (3 months is 94€, 12 months is 374€ but you get a 13th record selected for you - don't know if that's a ROTM or something else).

There is no archive shop though, but there is a limited swap option, but I'm not sure it's past ROTM either, more probably current curated options.

Do you know if the 94€ includes shipping and what's available to swap?

It includes shipping, but i have no clue what's offered for swaps, as I haven't been subscribed for a year now, and that option wasn't available at the time. I don't know if @Skalap is currently subscribed ? Maybe @EnicioEleyes knows ?

Also they are very reactive with their click to chat on the website or on FB if you want to investigate, I'm sure they speak english enough to answer you regarding swaps.

@uvwxVinyl I asked once about past AoTMs and they had a few available. The best is probably to ask for the records you want.

Spoke with the guy on chat - 94€ includes the shipping to Germany on the international 3 months which is great.

They have all records available from 2019 and ofege available but sadly the one I wanted (sunshine man) is no longer in stock.

Have you guys enjoyed the other records from 2019? Would like to sign up but I'm not sure if I'd be interested in the months after Varech

I do not subscribe to their club, at least not yet, so I can't say. The curation is interesting though I am considering joining at some time.

They have a relationship with Tidal Waves, so they usually have at least 1 or 2 exclusives from them each year. Other than that the curation is very broad, and that's why I unsub'd last time, because I wasn't feeling the choices half the time, and there were no swaps at the time.

If you're only after Varech and don't care about the colour variant, standard black reissue is still available and great.

Yeah I have the black version of varech, just thought I'd go for the special version as well since I really love the album. But you're right, nothing in there for me at the moment.

I hadn't heard of this club, but I saw that they were releasing this as their record of the month. That's why I came into the vinyl clubs section, specifically, just to see if there was already a thread for this. This pressing looks amazing.

Hi there.

I'm Ed, founder of Wax Buyers Club. @Skalap, a fresh new member of WaxBuyers ROTM invited me to come here. So here I am, with great pleasure. Not here to make some advertising, just to answer any question if you have some. So please feel free to ask if you wish to. And apologies for my english…

I'm also, as you can guess, a music lover. And guess what is my favorite media to listen to music? :)

Ed.

Thanks Edd, who pressed your variant of Varech ? Is it MPO ? Same master as the JMS reissue ?

We've been working straight with Jean-Marie Salhani for this. It is the same master, with a new dubplate : the reissue has been printed so much that the first test pressing we received from MPO was not good enough. The color variant has been chosen with JMS and Henri Texier.
