LOVE the finish, what are those?
Devote Fidelity O/96. The finish is the standard... Which for some reason is called "walnut lace"

My wife's description:. You just put two giant tables in our living room 😂

But they really are great looking wooden boxes. Soon as they are broken in a bit (few months) I'll be comfortable ng back for tube amp advice -- starting point Prima? (Hat tip: @HiFiguy)

I love my PrimaLuna. No regrets.

The 8MZ will fit most Grados make in the last 3 decades. It will definitely be an upgrade to your Black2.
i have a black 1

i dunno whether to upgrade to a 3 first or not

i kinda like the idea of having a gold or a red (be real audiophile level)... but also the 8mz upgrade would be useful

Totally irresponsible purchase...(it's been a weird year) and I'm very much in love

So cool! Still dying to hear these. I'm sure you'll love them. I think PL is a great amp choice, but if you have a bit of budget, there is a whole world of low power SET amps that could be interesting.

At 96 dB sensitivity, those would pair nicely with a Decware tube amp like @wooha uses with his Zu speakers. Not sure about the WAF on one of those though...

I'm pretty excited about exploring the options. Funny bit back on the local distributor -- salesman spent 30 minutes trying to convince me that the speakers needed at least a 150-200W amp to fill my 900sq foot space -- "possibly much more" -- I just kept waiting to try and fill out the order form and leave 🙄

Edit: note, they didn't sell much in the way of tubes...

So they have great speakers, but not the appropriate amplification to drive them, and they don’t even understand it. They sound like a barrel full of suck.

I have to say, even though the PrimaLuna Dialogue HP is total overkill with the Zus, it sounds killer and the amp isn’t being taxed at all- not even close.

Amps I'd have on my interest list with the O/96 (no specific order):
Decware
Modwright Ambrose Monos and Pre
Shindo Laboratory
Mastersound
First Watt
Line Magnetic

@Splunders is your First Watt guy- even though he jumped ship.
@wooha is your Decware guy.

I’d definitely be interested in a Decware or a Shindo. You never see anything bad about Decware anywhere. Art Dudley (great respect) is a total Shindo guy.

I wouldn’t touch a Line Magnetic.
