I’m cool with it, if it is Patrice. Made me think how much I love this jam.

It's just like a $5 record at any record store bin unless that's what they meant by saying it's a crate-diggery album...it's not a bad album at all but like Mr. Hands, just super easy to find copies out in the wild for substantially less than the VMP price.

Mr. Hands and Straight from The Heart are both super common highly available LPs that have not been reissued in a long while. Both are nice records for what they are they just don’t meet the criteria I am looking for when I am purchasing a reissue. I know it is the classic track but these are inessential releases. I have a list of LPs that are much more worth my $20 some dollars.

I'll be ok if it's Patrice based on what I've heard, sounds like a decent album. Do we have confirmation this will be AAA?

But it seems weird to describe an album that *checks Wikipedia* hit 14 on the US pop charts as crate digger.
It has the MIB sample so that’s probably why it would be “crate diggery” by certain definitions but I’m still holding out that this isn’t it...

I think Mr. Hands was a good choice, it's a big time artist's album that hasn't had a reissue in a long time, and it's a AAA pressing in nice packaging that sounds better than even original pressings arguably. The only thing I have against it is that the music isn't my bag, but that's a subjective taste. I wish they'd stay out of the '80s with Classics. The quality of the reissue isn't a question though IMO.

There's almost certainly an age aspect to this too. Like.. the 80s was the decade I grew up in. For a lot of VMP subscribers, I have to think that the 80s is the era their parents grew up in so it is 'Classic'. Like, if VMP were to survive 20 years.. we'd see a similar discussion about why Bloc Party - Silent Alarm is considered a 'Classic'.
