Loves Vinyl - The Record Club from Dublin Vinyl Pressing Plant

Jesus. I worked it out at 17 euro customs. Do they charge on top too

If the item is less than €100 it should just be the VAT. I can’t remember if there is an post fee, what it is, or if there’s an amount before it kicks in though sorry!

I'll do some reading up on it. Cheers Joe

1% of the parcel with a minimum of 10 euro. So looks like a total of 17 euro vat plus 10 an post charge & I paid 15.99 for address pal. Thinking I should of took my chances with straight delivery now 🙄😂

I just bought stuff from sleeve city and it’s €30 delivery and the whole range of fees on $150 + €30 when it arrives 😭

should hopefully be enough inner sleeves in there to do me 2 years, I just bought far too many records this year...

You have any idea how many you bought this year? And own altogether? I honestly dont know either

I know I’m over 1300 on records and CDs combined. Records overtook CDs for the first time halfway through the year. I’d estimate 675/625. 210 records and about 75 CDs have arrived this year (most of the CDs were picked up at dealz for €1.50 though 😂) with a few more of each on route or to be dispatched.

I actually thought it was going to be a lot higher the overall haul but that's quite impressive for this year alone 😳. I honestly have no idea, I was a cd, DVD Bluray man my entire life right up to 2014 then started buying vinyl, i used to buy up until last year a copy of an album on cd & vinyl. CD/Bluray has taken a backseat now unless it's something special, signed or an artist I particularly love, movie wise its gotta be a favourite or look amazing in HD, I'm on this 4k buzz now 🙄....Someday I'll discog profile everything. Might start a new profile to do it. My current one is way off I reckon

I’ve only been collecting records since I was 39 (6 and a half years) and it only ramped up the last 2 years. It’s actually a bit embarrassing to be honest! I’m hoping to sell a few off and target a bit better in 2020, I’d like to spend some money on other stuff too!

Nothing embarrassing about it at all. I dunno why but I was convinced you were my age maybe 35 I'm 34. I'll definitely be curbing the spending in 2020 I've an obsession with trainers too running out of space its ridiculous

I’m 36, that’s a typo, I got my turntable as a gift from my dad when I was 30! I do still have 7 or 8 free Kallax squares but I’d like to take a bit more time over filling them! It kind of is a bit embarrassing, I’ve a good job and I’ve spent most of the year skint because of vinyl, not really that cool!

I hear you on trainers, I have a love for Adidas originals but in my little apartment there a strict one pair dead in the bin before a new one comes in!

No way that's the trainers I collect. Last pair I bought were the Malmos before that oslo and zurich etc that's crazy 😂

Ive less than you and started to think about reducing spend this year. Mainly because I like to think I listen to all my records, but there comes a point you just cant get near many of them for lack of time/ interest. I still like owning them but It still makes me restless.

A bit like I used to be with incomplete Console games (hmmmmm "i really need to go back and complete Zelda - Sktward sword")

I'm on the "need to buy less" train too - I bought an extra 2x2 Kallax the other week that was meant to be for other things but filled it with records as a temporary move and it's like I didn't make a dent in the overflow. I don't actually have enough clear floor space in my small flat to put my pedal board down and play with that!

My iPhone notes file where I track orders is at it's emptiest ever - other than the new Duster album there's noting in, no orders on the way, no pre-orders for 2020. I'm fully aware there are plenty of records that may never be played again and a cull is sensible...but difficult.

I’m kind of comfortable with having things I only listen to a couple of times a year but really like, I enjoy a depth to my collection and like lots of different artists. What’s been grating on me is the records I’m buying that I actually realise I don’t want or worse don’t like. VMP FOMO shit and the like. If I could cut that out and bring it down to a sensible number of stuff from past greats and new artists that actually interest me I’d be much happier. I still have 6 or 7 free kallax shelves but id love that to be filled over a good few years with stuff I want in my collection. After that it’s flat full so stop or move somewhere bigger!
