Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

This is what TMR does with the Vault every quarter, I think it's good practice.
Interesting. I wouldn't have thought to put the burden on my customers. But I'm silly.

How many members does the Vault have? Vs. VMP? Just trying to wrap my brain around the effort involved.

It's not that they wipe the previous data it's that TMR emails us to say, "HAS YOUR ADDRESS CHANGED SINCE THE LAST ONE??? If so, you better let us know!"

Ok cool. It’s private if you’re not logged in so I couldn’t see anything.
I think in one of his recent posts he also mentioned a resolution to spend less time on Twitter.

Given how heated it can get when he does engage (not assigning blame to either side there, it just does) maybe that’s for the best right now.

How long before somebody like CoS or P4K starts sniffing around to see what's going on? For one of the biggest online vinyl retailers in the biz to be generating this much bad buzz on every channel is noteworthy, right? Doesn't merit a huge exposé or anything, but if a Stax Anthology announcement gets press in Rolling Stone, surely that same business being unable to deliver its product correctly is worth a blurb somewhere.
Send them a tip!
I actually just tweeted the same thing wondering why no media have made a peep about it. They've done stories about warehouse/shipping issues over the past several months, you'd think they'd also be poking around about one of the (supposedly) largest online record clubs completely shitting the bed for two months running.
That's what I'm saying! It feels very shady to me that this isn't being given much attention outside of a portion of their customer base. Haven't VMP and Pitchfork collaborated on stuff in the past? That might be the answer as to why Pitchfork is staying silent.
Those stories are actually what made me think about this, because I wouldn't put it past VMP to try to spin some of these issues as being related to those industry-wide problems. Some of them, like long-delayed pre-orders, probably are. But most of this bs isn't.

Well, tbh I was actually thinking the opposite. It was supposed to be a series of collabs, right? But they did Slowdive, and then...? Did a second one happen that I'm forgetting? You could be right, of course, but somehow I doubt that Pitchfork is to blame for whatever caused that to fizzle.

Honestly someone should get Anthony Fantano on this. I know not everyone is a fan of his but he makes videos on industry stuff like this all the time. Plus he knows of VMP because I have seen him with VMP pressings in his vinyl update videos but from what I can tell he isn't associated with them in any professional capacity.

I thought about him too. He used to give shout outs to VMP for sending him stuff all the time back when I watched him. He's definitely got a big enough platform to highlight the issues and try to make some noise. I don't know if they've sponsored him recently or not but if so, he should know what's going on.

I can't seem to remmeber if they sent him that stuff for free or if he bought it and it was just a shoutout for getting cool stuff pressed (I seem to remember it being demon days and tidal he was showing off). Either way I think he would do a pretty good job covering it. Maybe I will shoot a tweet at him or something.

I'd do it myself, if there wasn't SO much to break down and cover.

It reminds me of a friend whose car was one giant eyesore moving violation back in high school. It was an early 80s Tercel with the seats ripped out, black tinted windows, a siren on top, construction worker orange and gold spraypaint on it, a Camaro front end tied to the front with bailing wire, electric blue lights triggered with toggle switches, a huge handicap sticker covering the side door, "Ted Bundy" spray painted on the back, the rear window wiper spray pointed to spray at cars behind it, etc. Eetc. etc. He told me that a cop once said to him that they wouldn't know where to start writing tickets, so they just left him alone.

Just got a 10lb VMP box today and everything they said would be in there was there surprisingly and nothing extra. I’m glad it included some of the restocked albums, but it’s just said that we have to even wonder what we may have received in the box. Also on a related note, no duties/taxes on this package either, though who knows about future ones.

That's great news, it's always encouraging to hear a shipment that DIDN'T have problems (besides maybe taking forever to ship).

But seriously, hope they don't screw you, dude.

Thanks, I wrote back a polite email. I was responded to by Elli who I've never heard of before.
I just wrote back to Jason who was on the original ticket to see his response, I'm hoping this is a case of "I'm new here and don't know what to say so I'll say no because it's easier"
I'll post what the response is because if they are no longer refunding credits, that's something people should know about and adds more gas to this lovely dumpster fire we are all watching burn.

I think they're not refunding credits with cash. I had credits refunded with credits. I'm assuming they just refund in the same manner you paid, cash or credits. That's likely what they mean.
