Vinyl Me Please Essentials

The replacement that he confirmed isn’t even listed in my orders, just the original order that says “fulfilled.”

With the new year, I’ve done a lot of reflecting and have realized how silly it is to spend more money and deal with more frustration to get an already-available record in a different color variant (usually bent/warped/clicking and in a color that is often a new shade of of poop).
That doesn't sound good.

Yeah, I hear you. I would at least start hounding them for a refund though.

That's me on Discogs, btw.

I haven't seen any other examples of a misprint/misfoil that would make something a different series, so this may need further discussion in a forum thread on Discogs.

Oh, awesome, I thought the name looked familiar. For sure an interesting case!

Yeah, I am fairly certain that different Hype Stickers don’t require a separate entry from what I recall. If there is zero difference in pressing or the jacket/sleeve/label info. But as you said that’s a Discogs thread discussion.

Just clarifying, it’s not just the hype sticker, it’s the foil stamp on the back that erroneously reads “Essentials”. I just haven’t uploaded full pictures at this time.

Good point in a forum thread over there.

I wish they’d just ditch it. It’s a massive waste of paper IMO, especially with the obi being added. I’ve never been compelled to hang / frame any of them.

They need to follow my lead and ditch those horrible obi's too. Or at least make one that is complimentary and appealing and doesn't look like your album came from fucking STAPLES

I know this is a personal taste thing, but oddly, this photo is my favorite "print" they have done. I could see myself putting photos like this up on my wall, which I rarely even consider doing for the usual prints. I think the last one I really liked was the one with Nina Simone, which was a stylized drawing of Nina.

So yeah, I agree these are generally pointless. But I see potential there. I realize I may be in the minority since this is a personal taste thing. That said, we are way past the "potential" stage at this point.

then what will make VMP any bit unique beyond just a subscription service with a new record variant

why do i only see hip hop as one of the options i can join for in february... classics is literally just not there, i wouldn't have joined anyway but im just wondering why do they just not show classics for those who might want it

this was a SMOOOOOOOTH transition

I only see essentials and rhh in the coming in February section too, though I'm still subscribed to classics as my main. But in my case, I see an "add essentials for $23" button (and idem for rhh) instead of "you're getting this".

Anyway, seems like classics is missing in the coming next box. Smooth indeed.

Pretty sure it’s because the current month (Herbie) is sold out. Same thing happened with BB King last month.

literally no hints and its been 6 days... they got 3 weeks to make us excited and all we have is something saying storf thinks its the 3rd best hip hop album ever

and its not stankonia

(its probably the roots or maybe something wu tang related but does storf even like wu tang)

Storf is out of pocket due to moving to Minnesota, hence the lack of hints.

And just so we don't razz on him too much when the album is revealed, he never called it the third best hip-hop album ever, just that it's one of his personal favorites (behind Underground Kingz, Lord Willin and Supreme Clientele).
